The files seem good, my computer won't run it (no idea what is the problem, I suspect it is a video card limitation). Will try on one of my older rigs later.

Maybe I did something incorrectly, but that download leads to a mandatory survey requirement, which is just a scam looking for signups etc and ain't worth it. RRT3 is an ok game, but there are better ways to get it.
Got the game. Didn't have that survey.
I grabbed Civ VI when it was free. Have not touched it. [:D]

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department has charged five Chinese citizens with hacks targeting more than 100 companies and institutions in the United States and elsewhere, including social media and video game companies as well as universities and telecommunications providers, officials said Wednesday.
The five defendants remain fugitives, but prosecutors say two Malaysian businessmen accused of conspiring with the alleged hackers to profit off the attacks on the billion-dollar video game industry were arrested in Malaysia this week and face extradition proceedings.

In addition, one of the five defendants told a colleague that he was very close to the Chinese Ministry of State Security and would be protected "unless something very big happens," and agreed not to go after targets in China, said Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen. Rosen criticized the Chinese government for what he said was a failure to disrupt hacking crimes and to hold hackers accountable.
"We know the Chinese authorities to be at least as able as the law enforcement authorities here and in like-minded states to enforce laws against computer intrusions. But they choose not to," Rosen said.
There was no immediate response Wednesday to an email seeking comment from the Chinese Embassy in Washington.

Sadly, using a cheat is like admitting to being useless though (at least in games where the point is to be clever).
Regarding hacking, I think war in the future is going to be a mix of nerds with computers, and hypervelocity missiles (which are basically like throwing crowbars fast enough to create massive explosive effects).

Using a cheat to have no crashes may be okay if they seem to be excessive. For learning purposes they should be fine, especially for some younger people who may be frustrated. Since Railroad Tycoon can also teach something about business and economics, it would not be just a waste of time for some. Especially when they realize that the value of a product such as potatoes on the farm and the value of the same product such as potatoes in a city are different, sadly for the Soviet citizens some of the people in charge did not seem to realize that.

I purchased Railway Empire during its beta and played around with it until shortly after it went live. It looks very good, but I just couldn't help but wish it were more like Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon with updated graphics, a DOS game I purchased thirty years ago and played to death.
Another new railroad game that resembles Railway Empire is Railroad Corporation but here again, I couldn't help but wish it were more like Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon with updated graphics.

Much as I might prefer RRT3, I'm at least able to run Railway Empire.
In the end, I like sandbox games as a whole. I burn out 4X games though.
The beauty of a sandbox game, is there's no need to win. It's just playing.

If I can get the stuff out of storage, I can set up real trains. I wonder how the cats would like to watch N scale and HO scales trains? Or would there be a lot of train wrecks? [X(]

You might want to consider purchasing Railroad Tycoon 3 from GOG.com. GOG is good about getting older games to run well on modern systems. You could probably catch Railroad Tycoon 3 on sale for 50% off or more sometime in the not-too-distant futureORIGINAL: MrsWargamer

Railway Empire looks good. Like an updated Railroad Tycoon 3. Which I worked on the expansion kits. I wonder if it has the same industrial and stock system.
