I played this scenario from both sides over the weekend. Playing the French side was a breeze. The de Gualle airwing decimated the Port of Sudan with no losses. Playing the Chinese aligned side was much more difficult (to me). It took several retries until I got far enough into the playthrough that I thought I would pull out a win. I spent far too much time obsessing over the French carrier. I did eventually sink it, but it took literally everything I had in and on the Red Sea to pull that off.
A couple thoughts:
- Personally I don't like a scenario with missions pre-planned for the player, unless they're required.
- Other than fodder, what is the purpose of the ground units? It would have been interesting if they'd either been player controlled or had some sort of battle of their own going on. From the LIVE scenario description I thought there'd be some ground combat, but apparently not.

I'm into it on the french side and I like it a lot. Congratulations for the idea and planning.
Coiler, you did Commonwealth collision, Kurile sunrise, Broken shield, Black Gold and what else?
Why the author is not cited in the DLC briefing and documentation?
Thanks
Francesco

Thank you so much.
I have all of them.
Don of a new era, You brexit, Korean missile crisis, Aegean in flames are too big for me. I get lost with so many units and I'm not hooked in the scenario.
Pole position was a real masterpiece in my opinion, but I liked Spratly Spat, Broken Shield, Commonwealth Collision and Sahel Slugfest a lot.

Similarly, I prefer smaller scenarios, so my favorite LIVE scenarios are Pole Position, Spratly Spat, Old Grudges Never Die and Kuril Sunrise.

the escorts for the french carrier group seems unreal and minimal without asw platform and only 2 asw helicopters.... i also moved my ground forces back away from red sam coverage...
True.
Quote:
The only serving French carrier is the Charles de Gaulle, which also serves as the flagship of the Marine Nationale. The Carrier Battle Group (Groupe Aéronaval, GAN, in French) of the Force d'Action Navale is usually composed, in addition to the aircraft carrier, of:
a carrier air wing (Groupe Aérien Embarqué, GAE, in French), a complement composed of about 60 aircraft:
Rafale F3 (up to 30)
E-2C Hawkeye (2)
SA365 Dauphin (3) for RESCO and EC725 Caracal for CSAR (2)
one Rubis-class submarine
two anti-submarine destroyers (currently FREMM ASM or Georges Leygues class)
one or two anti-air destroyers (Horizon or Cassard class)
one stealth frigate in forward patrol (usually a La Fayette class)
one supply ship (currently a Durance-class tanker)
thank you... lovely group....
