Showboat:
I still have an OLD, OLD, OLD game titled simply "Midway". I have another REALLY OLD game for the, I am ashamed to admit that I had one of these, Atari 800 computers that centered around Midway and the Solomons. Don't have the Atari but I still have the game with original box, maps, manual, the Works! Anybody beat that?

I can top that----I still have that Atari 800 computer boxed away, with the 5 1/4 inch floppy disk drive and a green screen monitor. Plus I have a game that ran on this computer that I believe was put out by Gary Grigsby (believe it was titled "Carrier Strike").

Also have the Atari 2600 video game with several dozen cartridges....been tempted to break it out once and hook it up---just missing the connection switch box to connect it to my TV.

I have something even older than "Carrier Strike"--Grigsby's first game, "Guadalcanal Campaign", written in uncomplied Applesoft BASIC. More, I managed to convert it to PC-type file format, so I can run it with an Apple Emulator on my current computer.

Trivial point: Grigsby made an error in the code, resulting in all battleships firing the same size shells.

:D Still have a boxed Avalon Hill Midway and Guadalcanal. Both are still in playable condition. By the way does anyone have a copy of Action Stations (1990?) that they would part with or at least make me a copy of the original manual????

If it's Nov. '42, there's a bug in your game. You should be getting all kinds of upgrade offers--especially from TBD Devastators to TBF Avengers. One thing to remember: only squadrons on "Day Combat" missions will get a chance to upgrade. (Don't ask me to explain or justify this!)

I've been playing human vs. human (playtesting my own obc) and there were no upgrade offers at all. I've tried human vs. computer and there it works.

Among all the discussion of old games, does anybody remember an old game called 'Jutland'? I first played it about 10 years ago but I think I had a defective cd because the sound never worked right. When it did it was awesome. It incuded almost all the WW 1 naval actions. It was fun not having to worry about airplanes.
