Bases captured today: Hwaiyin, Ocean Is. (RES 20(0)), Batangas
Places assaulted today: Kuching, Beaufort, Adak, Ocean Is.
Hong Kong harbor was cleared of mines.
The attack at and capture of Batangas separates the US Tank battalions at Lucena from the defense of Manila -
even though the US tanks were successful in their attack at Lucena, south of Batangas -
Back at Atimonan, Miura Det. combines with Kimura Det. to form 33rd Inf Rgt, part of 16th Div. This unit and the 16th Div units at Batangas will move to Lucena, reform the division and destroy the Lucena defenders before moving north to join 4th Div at Manila.
