Meanwhile the WitE2 forum is now in "The Big Bang Theory" territory.

WitE2 has improved the management of the mighty Stavka's Strategic Reserves (the interesting part of the Great Patriotic War to me, like handling the logistics in WitP AE). No need to concentrate your massive reserve armies near the Urals [:D]
Now, to grasp the air war and let's find a German victim

The Red Army is
coming.

You really should not post links to something of a
political nature like that. [;)]
The problem is that some of these people apparently don't have the brains that HE gave an Equus Asinius. [X(]
These are probably the type of people who have had no such training or experience in such matters and only go by games.
They are also probably the people who think that factories "make" the eggs that you would buy in a store and do not realize that they come from a hen's backside. [8|]

Wouldn't it be awesome if the US could march like that?

Nice marching is a requirement if you join the army in a dictatorship. The Germans in WW2. North Koreans. China. They all look really great in a parade. [;)]

Yes, but wouldn't it be nice if the US military could march like that?

I'll put my hands up to a sense of humour fail here but I'd gently suggest that the US Marines that fought at Fallujah would most likely attest that despite the use of WP their mission in clearing the city was somewhat more complex and costly in terms of wounded and dead than simply using "a broom to sweep up the ashes".

Not many wooden houses there. [:D]

Not just that but do you think that the Nazi Germans and the Soviet Communists would worry about collateral damage if they wanted to destroy the enemy? The USSR had not signed the Genea Convention at that time.
Or are you stating that the US Marines fought on the Eastern Front during World War II? If so, whose side would they have fought on or would they shoot equally at both sides?

Meanwhile they are now in "Discovery Channel" territory.
I never knew that a debate about the impact of climate on the quality of grass as food for horses could be so interesting. An informed opinion on the matter requires an unusually high level of knowledge it would seem. [:D]

Can't they? Or you mean you would like to see this sort of re-enactements?
The thing I noticed is the armies that actually won wars tend to march in a calm way: British, Russians and Americans. They know what they are doing and mean business... no hurry, the enemy will get some yes or yes.
The other armies on the other hand... they jog and even run, as if they were anxious to meet their inevitable fate ie destruction [:D] One of the funniest and most ridiculous
parades ever, in case you missed it, in the indo-pakistani border.

Yes, I simply can't fathom that parade either
Very good response though.

or to live somewhere which (a) has grass and (b) few horses ... and never used horses for farm labour as the few that did survive were the wrong type [;)]
but apparently we don't model the precise mix of grass and hay as the game is utterly biased to the Soviets

I think I blew out a knee and dislocated a hip just watching those border guards. The facial hair is fairly epic though.

I am surprised that they have not yet started on the latitude effect on the food production not to mention the length of the day for combat purposes. [8|]
Maybe I should throw that into the discussion . . . [:-]

Since today is April, 1st, I got an idea! Let's airdrop Bob down there. Next, we start a thread about "OOBs in Eastern Front Scenarios for TOAW4 and their impact on realism". Then we run all back here and watch what happens from afar... [8D]
