That means it is fairly easy to block as it says nothing about raiding or a convoy route. So a German sub that's "silent" can do the job.
Well its essentially just the Persian Gulf so a pretty narrow area that I think you could block off with 1-2 destroyers.

Can you confirm the exact trigger for this (excellent) development? Is 'amphibious preparations' the same test as the amphibious trigger map (19 hexes) or is it something else?

Overall - fantastic changes that will make USSR a bit fairer and the Pacific more interesting.
It appears to be the same 19 hex amphib check and here is the conditions from the new events:

; USA politically aligned with the Allies but not yet fully mobilized
#VARIABLE_CONDITION= 115 [2] [0] [0]
; 2 Allied Amphibious units within 19 hexes of Syracuse Port
#CONDITION_POSITION= 104,60 [19,19] [2,2] [2] [0] <47,48>

Many thanks. I love the way this forum answers questions so quickly.

Found an error, in the English decision text file the last 5 entries are in German-and missing from the German file where they presumably were intended to go. [First is the revised Persian Lend Lease to Russia one]

Believe you me I can fully grok just how easily that kind of thing can sneak in.

Thanks and this should be fixed now for hopefully a quick hotfix.

Looks like a few small scripts errors when comparing with the patch notes:
- "USA: Continued Axis Occupation of American Samoa" and "USA: Continued Axis Occupation of Guam" which should be -30 NM but are -27 NM
- "India: Continued Axis Occupation of Calcutta" which should be -75 NM is -63 NM

I copied those over verbatim, note. Looks like the devs gave a small extra penalty to India, the home country, natch, for Calcutta (which makes sense). No idea why Guam has a discrepancy of 3. Note NM works on a scale of 100,000 = 100%...

I know it's frustrating starting a MP game only to see an update a few days later. The pace of changes should be much more sedate from here on out. Baltazor & I are about to restart our match, and the goal is to go deep into the game and gauge long-term play balance.

Looks like a good geography lesson, folks will know how to garrison Guam.

Thank you, this will be corrected as well

Another error: The French lost morale for the Maginot Line being outflanked when Belgium fell but no German troops had set foot in France.

The Maginot Line morale event now checks if there are 2 Axis units either within 2 hexes of 1 hex south of Nancy OR within 2 hexes of of 1 hex south of Lille. The second check would include 5 hexes of Belgium territory.

; 2 Axis units are behind the Maginot line
#CONDITION_POSITION= 94,44 [2,2] [2,2] [1] [0]
; 2 Axis units are within 2 hexes of Loos
#CONDITION_POSITION= 91,40 [2,2] [2,2] [1] [0]

I believe this is correct as it was an included amendment in the latest patch, e.g. where the event no longer checks for the surrender of Belgium (as a pre-requisite) but rather the positions of Axis forces.

In this case, the previous check that looked for a breach of the Maginot is still in place, but an additional check was added to look for the presence of Axis units within Brussels or better (as far as Ypres or the Ardennes), as this would also constitute the Maginot being essentially outflanked and circumvented.

Wow - that is quite a raft of changes. Thanks for listening. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.

One minor thing I noticed in my current game. Von Runstedt is no longer named - he's just a German HQ.

Hi Pete

I'm not sure what you mean, can you explain further?

@Bill - I think its referring to the German HQ that starts near Breslau which now appears just as "HQ (Germany)" where I believe previously it was named like the other HQs as "Von Runstedt HQ (Germany)".

This is actually as intended, because every resource belonging to a Major power has an intrinsic NM value, which if occupied by the enemy causes that value to be deducted from their NM.

For example, the occupation of American Samoa by the Axis already reduced US NM by 3 points per turn.

No scripts were needed for that, and in these instances the newly added scripts just ensure that the total NM for that resource being occupied equals 30 or 75 respectively.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Ah, that does make sense. In that case, would "UK: Singapore" event need to be -40 instead of -50 since I believe its 2 major ports each give 5 NM as they are UK owned?

You are right, but I think I'll leave it as is because it's actually more embarrassing for the UK to lose Singapore if they have invested in improving it via the DE.
