. 5 land steps lost on the Attacker side
. 3 land steps lost on the Defender side

. 4 air steps lost on the Attacker side
. 4 air steps lost on the Defender side

Not too bad for a Romanian corps because we finally obtain a RETREAT.

Now going back to Europe 1941, same situation.

Instead of attacking, I am doing one ground strike.

With this result.

Then I am attacking. Odds are at 3:1.

End result is at 4:1 but the enemy unit holds.

Reloading again to perform a first ground strike.

With this result, please note the new "interdicted" icon on the enemy unit.

Then, a second ground strike that did not go well in term of losses.

Attacking, now it shows 4:1.

And the enemy unit retreats.

But, honestly, the conclusion is the same for me than before this patch, the best is to attack with ground support.
See, I am doing it once again. Odds are 3:1 but all my air assets are activated.

On Soviet side (first turn), the air ground support units are not in full support mode.

End result is 7:1 with an enemy retreat and less losses. This is the way to go imo.

Thank you! I need to change how I play, I've been bombing before combat. (Which will still sometimes be needed).

I recall Alvaro saying that the first strike was the most effective use, then ground support second, then other strikes (second and more). Maybe it is inverted now? Ideally both would be nice [;)]

I have checked by doing a first airstrike.

Enemy unit was interdicted in the process.

Then doing a land attack with ground support activated.

End result is quite the same. I don't know. It will surely depends on the situation.
