Want to hijack this thread if possible to ask my own noob question.
In WitW (which is a GG wargame I am familiar with) you can see the growth of aircraft factories. In WitP the allies only start with 4 air factories, do more get built as we go? Because I am worried about things such as fighters and flying boat replenishment. Now I understand this isn't Hearts of Iron but I want to know that stuff will be replenished eventually so I can feel a bit better committing planes. Also there are no Armaments or Vehicle factories either.
Allied production is fixed to historical values. Japan can expand.
You should note, that you also have fixed Replacement rate of planes arriving monthly. That is separate from factories, that are addition to that. Plus most squadrons arrive with full compliment of aircrafts.
Numbers are historical or as close as devs could get.

There are a lot more than four that considering that locations like Los Angeles, San Diego and Melbourne all have multiple aircraft factories. There are also AC factories in Sydney, Seattle, Vancouver and Komsomolsk in the Soviet Union although some don't come on line for some time.
However, the off map production does eventually provide the Allies with the bulk of their replacement planes though.

You can see the build numbers for those items in the Industry/Troops/Resource pool in the Intelligence tab. Just click "i".

So in response to the points above. I had this answered at the same time on stream and combined with your answers it make sense. And correct me if I am wrong:
Replacement Rate = The construction of Planes in factories that are off map (so in Heartland of the USA for example)
Production Rate = The construction of Planes in factories that are on the map (so places like LA)

For those that get added do you know what time Roughly?

Exactly. [8D]

The month and year when the AC factory starts cranking out planes is right next to the aircraft name in the factory display. For example the PB2Y-3 Coronado begins production at San Diego beginning in January 1943 at three planes a month. The PB4Y-1 Liberator in December 1942, etc. The planes that aren't being produced yet are greyed out.

And for off map production you check the aircraft replacement pool in the intelligence tab. For example, you start getting the SB2C-4 Helldiver in December 1944 at 250 planes a month spread through the month.

Thank you. I didn't see too many other factories when I went into the Production tab. And thank you for the other picture, as I say I am used to WitW so I was looking for the production rate and had no idea what the replacement meant, now I do, and I feel a lot better about what I can commit to the war etc.

Yeah, it can be a bit confusing since you have some aircraft models like the B-17G that produced both on the map (Seattle) and off map (called replacements) as well.

While the information on both Production (on board) and Replacement (off board) rates and starting dates is very important, you have to look elsewhere to get the full picture.
Access any individual Air unit and click on the yellow text line for Upgrade.
You will access a list like the one shown below with air frame types in yellow text.
As the fly out highlight indicates, right click for additional info.

Accessing the details for any given air frame type shows the start and end dates for the production runs, both on and off board.
A start date with no end date means the production runs till game ends.
Combining this data with the rates from the tables shown above allows you to get a ballpark idea of how many air frames of that type you will have to work with.
This is critical to understanding how many squadrons you may be able to outfit with a given air frame type and for how long you may be able to operate them, before needing to up or down grade to remain operational.

Thank you. I knew that this was a thing from War in the West, but when it wasn't clear to me here I was very confused. So my other question then is what about armaments and vehicles such as tanks etc.

For the Allies those come at a set build rate and are collected into their respective pools. Most types don't become available for many months. You can filter them by type in the Industry/Troops/Resource pool menu.

Thank you very very much. I assumed it would take some time for the stuff to come to the Pacific

It's not too dissimilar to the production system in War in the West. [:D]

One thing about build rates - they are subject to die rolls. So in a month of 30 days with a build rate of 6, there is a 6/30 or 1/5 chance of the die roll resulting in production. It should average out to six a month, but it is not uncommon for more than 6 or less than 6 to be produced.

Which is true and many of the AFV have a too early arrival date, just look at the M26 and all the TDs. M26 started appearing in low numbers in EUROPE at the end of 44/early 45 I believe. M10+M18 also too early on this table (at least for the pacific TOO)

Your statement as to the M26 is wrong on both counts.
A few companies of M26 (standardised, with its "M" designation, from the T26E3 in March 1945) deployed to Europe, including the so-called "Zebra mission" to battle test/assess the vehicle when it was at low rate production. Low rate production started in November 1943 (10 tanks completed), and built up from there. It entered series rate production at Detroit TA in March 1945. 2000 were built by the end of 1945. 320 M26 deployed to Europe before VE day. In the stock scenario, the arrival date of the M26 is too late, and the production rate is too low.
It should arrive after November 1943*, but well before May, 1945. [*March 1945 seems sensible.] The stock May 1945 date might relate to the despatch of an M-26 unit to Okinawa (it arrived too late for combat), but that is an in-game decision for the allied player to organise.
Of 2000 tanks, we'll nominally halve that for tanks sent to Europe, retained in CONUS for training etc - so
production rate should be AT LEAST 1000/10 months = 100 per month. Arguably it should be more than that.
Edit: I didn't fact check your assertion about M10/M18, but you might want to read up on the Luzon and Okinawa campaigns wrt to the M18.
