Not sure this is working correctly or I'm missing something. Tested it using the Gaudal canal scenario.

Parked a carrier at Lunga and another one hex from Tulagi each with full complment of a/c and this is the result. Carried test out more than once and also tested other scenarios and got similar results. Also test CAP and that appears to be the same.

Is that the total for both CV'S? I don't have the manual in front of me. But if I remember correctly only 50% fly when in a base hex....GP

No, separate attacks one CV for each.

The Tulagi attack is OK as it's just a coastal hex but not the Lunga. As I said I tried different scenarios, for instance sent the KB to Midway turn one, various Japanese CV to different locations in every single one all the TFs aircraft attacked. All these were enemy base but also tried from a friendly base and got the same. Me or the bug? Someone else needs to test it.

Wasn't the 50% reduction only for CAP?

Might be the reason why you can fly full offensive missions...

I've always thought it was just CAP but that's not what the manual says. It says and always has:-

'7.2.1.13.2 Aircraft Carriers in Base Hexes
Air operations by aircraft carriers are limited if the aircraft carrier is in a base hex. Aircraft launching search, CAP or strike
Missions from a carrier in a base hex will only launch 50% of the normal amount they would have launched. If the CAP is
reinforced by fighters on the ship due to the raid being spotted in time, only 50% of the fighters on the ship will reinforce
the CAP.'

Ok tested it some more and strike mission are definitely not being reduce. There is a difference in CAP but not what I'd expect.

Tested numerous times. Same Japanese attack on Milne with two CV present with 66 fighter total, set to 100% CAP. All I change was CV locations.

What I would expect to happen is, if the rule was working, the total halved resulting in only 33 a/c flying CAP. This never happened, it was alway up in the 50+ as you can see from the results below.

There is however a slight differences, fewer flew when in the same hex than not and the aircraft tended to be standby ib the base and airborne when not.

None ever scambled. There didn't seem to be any difference between at sea and docked.

Yea, manual is very outdated.
