It's interesting. It feels really surreal to see clips of things like that that have cropped up during this and other recent conflicts like Syria and think...I just watched people die, real-time. Not a war movie. Pretty unsettling, really.

Maybe to give Rakka&Syria to French analysis better protection against Putin. Tons of American tank regiments deployed in Greece (Dedeağaç) in recently this summer. Against Afghan and Syrians immigrants or against Russia I wonder.

Today I watch Lavrov in live with foreign minister Çavuşoğlu which wasn't live in CNN international. Instead it goes with the news Zelenski speech to US Congress. Even Chechens (not Slav) wasn't that much recognized in US congress. :D

Today's (March 17th) assessment by the Understanding War site.
Key Takeaways
  • Russian forces continue to make steady territorial gains around Mariupol and are increasingly targeting residential areas of the city.
  • Ukrainian forces northwest of Kyiv launched several local counterattacks and inflicted heavy damage on Russian forces.
  • Ukrainian forces repelled Russian operations around Kharkiv and reported killing a regimental commander.
  • Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russia may have expended nearly its entire store of precision cruise missiles in the first twenty days of its invasion.
  • Russian forces deployed unspecified reserve elements of the 1st Guards Tank Army and Baltic Fleet Naval Infantry to northeastern Ukraine on March 17.
  • Russia may be parceling out elements of the reserve force that could conduct an amphibious operation along the Black Sea coast to support ongoing assaults on Mariupol, further reducing the likelihood of a Russian amphibious assault on Odesa.
  • Ukrainian forces shot down 10 Russian aircraft—including five jets, three helicopters, and two UAVs—on March 16, and Ukrainian forces continue to successfully contest Russian air operations.

Today's (March 20th) assessment from the Institute for the Study of War
Key Takeaways
  • The Ukrainian General Staff reported for the first time that the Kremlin is preparing its population for a “long war” in Ukraine and implementing increasingly draconian mobilization measures, including deploying youth military organization members aged 17-18.
  • Ukrainian forces reportedly killed three Russian regimental commanders in the last 24 hours.
  • Russia’s Wagner Group will likely facilitate the deployment of Libyan fighters to Ukraine.
  • Russian forces are digging in to positions around Kyiv, including the first reports of the war of Russian forces deploying minefields.
  • Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian assault on Izyum, southeast of Kharkiv, and inflicted heavy casualties.
  • Russian forces continued their slow advance into Mariupol but did not achieve any major territorial gains.
  • Ukrainian forces launched further localized counterattacks around Mykolayiv.

Good cover and links in a spanish wargames forum, Punta de Lanza.

Note that there is a disinformation war inside the thread, with pro-russian trolling among the posters, bust most are very good with interesting videos uploaded in twitter.

There is moderation so that it is military related only, like here in Matrix.

From my AGEod pbem games -more than 7 years ago-both Russian Stalinist and liberal players didn't recognize much of Ukraine and Cossacks. Ilber Ortaylı as a professor confim that. Spain interested from Nato perspective perhaps. What were they trolling about?

It sounds a lot like another political post. In your last posts, three times the term NATO appears...

But isn't it Nato conflict now. Embargo and giving small and big firearms and such. :?:

Edit: If we discuss Nato past decisions it will be political, but then we should not discuss Stalin and Hitler decisions. There is Stalinists in Russia and Neo-nazi in Germany currently. Where is the line about political.

Your hint that some players did not recognize Ukraine as a country sounds pretty political. And that triggered comments that took issue with it, so it is the kind of thing that Matrix does not want in our content. Let's not discuss that stuff any more.

Alright,

This has quite clearly gone south into the discussion of NATO, which is a political alliance, I am bringing this thread to a close.

Gamer78 - This is the second time this week that you have been involved in the derailing of a thread into political discussions about current events. Consider this your final warning, next time this happens you will get a 1 week ban from these forums.
