I suppose this will make my final report.
I threw back the southern attack, which after more deliberation is thought to have been 2 tank companies, 1 AC company, and 1 infantry company, alongside 2 or 3 platoons of the FT class tanks. I didn't get the chance to really annihilate them and my entire force down there consisted of one PZ38(t) platoon and 1 8-rad AC section. To think something of that size got thrown back something that small boggles my mind. Their determination to advance almost entirely along that stretch of road along the bottom row made it easier to a large extent. If they has spread out more I wouldn't have been able to hold a force that size, much less throw it back. I also wasn't able to finish the job, because PO surrendered around turn 25 (of 42 max).
Anyway, here's the final tally:
GE lost
men-47
artillery-0
soft vehicles-1 (yes, he got that supply truck afterall)
apc's-0
afv's-2
no air units
PO lost
men-1347
artillery-0
soft vehicles-1
apc's-29
afv's-98
no air units
GE:6891 PO:169
A few things I noticed. I think that may be the widest margin I've ever recorded in afv losses. I have shut out the enemy before, but I can't remember ever having 96 more kills than the enemy.
Also I had around 130 total units. PO had, not including crews, 449 (gulp).
Onto the next battle, I was given the option to continue the battle, therefore chasing the enemy on a new map, however, it must be screwed up now because while it correctly didn't allow me to upgrade the core, it gave me like 4042 support points (I'm playing at the normal level [the whole core isn't more than 3300]) for an assault I believe. I reloaded the prior battle's save and this time was presented with an advance. It gave me like 600 upgrade points, so they've obviously jacked with the upgrade points, making it too large in my view, so I guess future campaigns will see me picking the hardest level where it cuts into your upgrade points 20%.
