It might also be working for me as I have added the default files which exist in the Interface folders for each of the campaigns to the War Map Mod > Interface folder

Like this:

Here is my War Map Mod folder I have copied from the Mods folder.

Download and unzip it. Drop the folder War Map Mod into Documents > My Games > Strategic Command American Civil War > Community Pack > Mods

If you already have a folder named War Map Mod in the Mods folder delete it before dropping the one I have uploaded into the Mods folder.

Load the game and click settings then Mods. Click next to War Map Mod.

The map should now be available in all campaigns. If this doesn't work then you will have to manually add the map.png to all the Interface folders of all the campaigns.

Doesn't work, at least, for me.
So, to stay complete, I have attached my War Map Mod folder, which worked for me under the normal Documents Mod folder and maybe should work under the community mod folder, too.

Yeah it only worked for me when I replaced the default files. When I tried the other method of putting it in the community mods folder in my documents it does not work for some reason even when I placed in the correct mod folder mods and interface and renamed the file.

I've never understood why there are two Community Pack > Mods folders in these new StratCom games. It can make applying mods actually more difficult despite the fact the dedicated Mods folder(s) are presumably intended to make applying mods easier.

If dropping the map.png into each of the Interface folders for each of the campaigns located in the main install folder of Strategic Command American Civil War > Campaigns or the methods I have outlined in my previous posts regarding Community Pack > Mods folder are not working for some people then I don't know what else to suggest.

This great map is such a major improvement over the default one that everyone who plays this game deserves and needs to have it. I would go as far as to say it should just be included with the base game.

Maybe it can be added in the next official patch.

The map.png should be added in this way to work correctly:

In "\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War\Community Pack\Mods\" ,

i added a folder structure "3D Map\Campaigns\_1861 Blue and Gray One Week Turns\Interface\map.png"

You shoud take the campaign Folder name you want to play. In my case "_1861 Blue and Gray One Week Turns"

Then you can switch under setting - Mods Your Map Mod

Isn't the whole point of the \Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War\Community Pack\Mods\ folder to be able to apply mods to all the campaigns without having to put the mod in all the individual campaign folders in the main installation folder or as in your example create a folder for individual campaigns?

In my understanding you need to name the folder structure the same as where it should replace the file.
If you want a map for all Campaigns, then you have to make folders for all campaigns.

As i see the game looks if there is a replacement file and load this instead of the original. But the Folder Path has to be the same to identify the path of the original.

After some testing with Old Crow it is time to share the War map mod with the SC-ASW community. I would like to give a shout out to Hubert who help make the mod for easy access and use.

I would also like to thank Platoonist and IslandInland for their initiative in using the map from the onset.

Last but not least thanks to our esteemed grognard Old Crow who actually got this ball rolling to create the map.

If for some reason this link does not work please PM me or leave a comment. I'm not a wiz at this stuff, I just make counters.

On the map below it looks like the Union has started their blockade of the south. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love this mod. Any way to adjust the list of states as it covers up Jamaica and Bermuda? Or maybe an alternative that does not have the list?

It covers up Bermuda, but it certainly doesn't cover up Jamaica which is just south of Cuba.

Is the detailed map unchanged? Can you play an AI game with this map?

Yes, any graphical mods will be fully compatible with playing against the AI.

I have tried to make this map work the usual way - through the \Mods folder. I have used the \Documents\My Games and the Steam folder locations. Neither work.

In my testing, it seems that the file map.png is particular to SC:ACW. None of the other SC titles use it (WIE, WAW and WWI). Also, the same map.png is found in each ACW campaign folder - usually if that is the case, it can be put in the root \Interface folder and it can be used by all campaigns. There are no map.png files in any other titles.

That makes me wonder if the issue relates to how the Mod files are used. Is the order of priority is root Interface files, then if a Mod with those same files is active, then the specific files in the campaign Interface folder? Does there need to be a map.png in the root Interface folder for the Mod files to override and only if there is not a specific campaign one?

Of course, the map.png for this mod can be put in each campaign Interface folder and it works but, as someone has already pointed out, that negates the usefulness of the Mod system.

Anyone got any ideas about this?

The reason it isn't put in the root\Interface folder is that then it would appear in all campaigns, including for instance the Franco-Prussian War campaign, mods using different maps... and the new campaigns that will be included in the DLC.

Just to clarify from your post, is it the case that you cannot get this map mod to show at all in game?

Yes, I understand why it's not in the root Interface - I found out the hard way! :)

I can only get the map to show in the game when the zoom is furthest out (strategic view) if the map.png is in the Interface folder for each campaign. I have to manually paste it in and I can't get it to show if I try to use it as a mod.

To make it work I copied the map.png file under:
\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War\Community Pack\Mods\War Map Mod\Campaigns\_1861 Blue and Gray\Interface

Great work! Thanks for sharing.
