that "SWAG" was Scientific Wild A$$ Guess".

Actually, they did have estimates from engineers and such, but the majority of the real repair estimates came once the ship got back to a major base/shipyard.

I would like to see colors used to designate different tak forces.

I would like to see a pecking order for naval attacks. i have groups attacking ships hundreds of miles away while a enemy task force is in the next hex.

I would like to see a cap list which would indicate number of fighters aloft and what their protecting.

This list is not complete by any means, however, this is a great game to play.

I'd like a little more info during the combat resolution. Things can get a bit frustrating if things aren't happening the way you planned and you have no explanation. EG. CAP failing to intercept attacking aircraft. Now, the program may have determined that the CAP was only small, and didn't notice the attacking planes in what is (after all) a thirty mile hex during limited visibility. Fair enough, but let us know, otherwise we just see the "air combat done" message and the bombers sail through.

Likewise during the naval routines. Mike wood elsewhere has mentioned a lot of calculations are going on behind the scenes as ships manouevre. Now, if my IJN Cruisers and BBs meet a handful of US destroyers and transports and only hit two DDs, tell me why. If the two hit DDs have manouevred out in front to cover the escape of the others, fair, but tell me, so I don't sit in front of the screen screaming "Why did no one shoot at the others?" If the IJN have only fired briefly at and sailed past the Transports as their primary mission was to bombard the airfield, then again, fair enough, but please give me a clue so I can understand.

Cheers,
John.
