19.00 - 19.32

After the video and before passing my orders, I always look at the following 4 reports:

INT / Eny Sitrep to see the Eny troops observed during the video and their positions

INT / EW Report to see if my Order Cycle will be affected by the EW Eny and if my HQ can be detected because of their radio emissions. Beyond 12% I will move them a few km to another area with good coverage.

INT / Reported Kills & Claims to know the damage inflicted to the Eny and my losses

PL / Staff Alerts to see if some units are out of command zone, if they have a too low level of morale, readiness, ammo or if they don't have enough transport vehicles.

Red Group
The B. Recce crosses Wattendorf then advances on the hill to the east where it sees an Eny unit in the woods.

The first units of the A.Mech arrive in Wattendorf.

White Group
An Eny Recce unit is immediately seen at the crossroads of the St2190 and the B505 highway. The A.Tank deal with this threat and destroy it.

The HQ. Recce arrives on the hill south of Grafenhausling and sees new Eny units:
- Just 500m down the hill it sees 1 Recce unit.
- Further on the B505, in the woods, it spots lots of infantry, BMP-2s, and several HQs.
She immediately backs off (In the SOP I put a Stand off range of 3 Hex to all my recce).

The A. Tank is regrouping on the B505 behind the hill

The B. Tank is in place around Hohenhausling. The 2 and 3 Platoon spot the recce vehicle seen by the White Group and destroy it.

Blue Group
No movement

Yellow Group
The C. Tank is positioned but the B.Mech takes longer than expected to organize its assault.

The A. Recce has already reached Konigsfeld which does not seem to be held by the Eny.

Support
The Cobras flew over the area and reached the intersection of the Ba11 road and the B22 highway without spotting any Eny

Red Group
Continued to advance: no new orders.

White Group
HQ. Recce: I send it to Shederbdorf.

Stinger team: in case helicopters arrive from the east, I send it on Grafenhausling which has a good line of sight because it is on top of a hill.

A.Tank : I order her to advance 500m (1 Hex) on the B505 on top of the hill to try to spot and destroy some of the vehicles seen by the Recce. After 20 minutes they were ordered to move back and take cover behind the hill.

2. and 3. / B.Tank Coy : now that their presence is known by the Eny I move them back to Hohenhausling in order to avoid a possible battery fire on this position.

Blue Group

Yellow Group
B.Mech : I made a mistake in my 1st turn orders and do not give any others in order not to slow down the assault.

A. Recce: although dangerous because without support, I send him on a reconnaissance to B22 in order to get to Wisenfels.

Support
HQ of the Mech Battalion : the HQ of the A.Mech is out of command zone so I send the HQ of the Mech Battalion to the north to remedy this.

FA: it has received a request to fire from the Red Group Recce via the FSCC and will automatically fire next turn.

19.32 - 20.08

ACTION


Red Group

The A. Mech continues to regroup on Wattendorf.

The Recce stays on the spot and spots helicopters far to the west.

White Group

The HQ. Recce advances on Shederbdorf and the Stinger team positions itself in Grafenhausling.

The A. Tank moves up the hill and locates the Eny unit on the wood 2 km to the east. A Tank of the 2. Platoon is destroyed by AT missile fire.
The 1. and 3. Platoon destroy at least 8 vehicles before retreating in turn.

The area occupied by the 2. and 3. Platoon of the B.Tank is the target of artillery fire but my units have already retreated.
These artillery shots seem to come from the south of Stadelhoffen.
Blue Group

No movement

Yellow Group

The B. Mech is still preparing for the assault.

The Recce leaves Konigsfeld and arrives on Wiesenfeld without meeting anyone.

Support

The Cobras fly over Steinfeld and return to the FARP to refuel.

The FA fires on the area indicated by the Recce of the Red Group on the previous turn.

The 1. Mtr moves to the north

Red Group

I send the Recce further south on the hill.

White Group

A. Tank: having fired a lot of ammunition I scatter them and make them resuplie.

The sun begins to set

The assault is finally launched by the B. Mech and the town of Konigsfeld is taken without firing a shot.

The Recce moves up the B22 towards Steinfeld without encountering any Soviet units.

The south seems to be abandoned by my opponent.

A. Mech: it must move carefully into the woods on the hill east of her position.

B. Tank: The assault on Konigsfeld is finished, so I order them to join the A. Tank.

It is almost dark: the luminosity is only 30%.

ACTION

Red Group

The A. Mech moves to the east. The night seems to slow down a lot its movements.

White group
The Stinger team spots Helicopters attacking a friendly unit 6 km to the south west. They fire and shoot down one of them.

The B. Tank joins the A. Tank which finishes refueling.

Blue Group
The C. Mech Coy moves to join the White Group.

Yellow Group
The 1. Platoon of the B. Mech arrives at Hollfeld but the rest of the Yellow Group progresses very slowly because of the night. The columns were stretching dangerously thin.

On the B22 the Recce was attacked by 4 Mi 24's which appeared from the forest. Only one unit of infantrymen remained, saved by the fire of the Stinger team of the White Group which made the other helicopters flee.

Support
While flying over Steinfeld the Cobras are shot at from Stadelhoffen. 1 aircraft is shot down, the other one retreats to the FARP

The 1. Mtr is ordered by the FSCC to fire on the supposed Eny artillery position in the woods south of the objective and seems to destroy several Vehicles.
The 1st cobra unit leaves the battlefield and the 2nd arrives.

Red Group
Units continue to advance through the woods, no new orders.

White Group
The 1. and 3. Platoon of the A.Tank and the HQ of the B. Tank took advantage of the darkness and were sent up the hill.

The rest of the A. and B. Tank remain in reserve on the west side of the hill

Recce : it is sent to do reconnaissance on St2190

Blue Group
No new orders.

Yellow Group
The Recce only 2 survivors have crossed the Wiesent and are hiding in the woods. I will not give them any more orders during the rest of the battle.

In order not to slow down the advance on Hollfeld of the Tellow Group column I let these units progress by themselves and do not give them any new orders.

Support
1. Mtr: it leaves to join the White Group to be within shooting distance of Stadelhoffen and must stay under cover west of the hill.

Cobra: I send the 2nd cobra unit to recon above Steinfeld.

21.16 - 21.47

It is night: the luminosity is only 5%.

The A. Mech continues to progress very slowly in the forest.

White Group
The 3 Tank Platoon arrive on the hill. They spot Eny tanks 4 km north-east (coming from Kleinzigenfeld) moving in the open. They fired and destroyed 4 of them.

The Recce left Schederndorf and advanced along the St2190, but soon came up against an AD unit.

Blue Group
It continues its progression to join the white group.

Yellow Group
The units are moving much too slowly. I am afraid I will not be in time to search and destroy the Eny artillery before the final assault.

Support
The cobra unit is targeted from the forest and is totally destroyed.

The 1. mtr Coy arrives at its destination.

White Group
I am concerned about the presence of Eny tanks in this area.
B. Tank: I decide to reassign it to the Red Group to support it during the assault.

1/B. Mech: I send the leading element of the Yellow Group to reconnoiter towards Stadelhoffen on the St2191. If the Yellow Group is too late on its timing I will change my plan and have it attack the objective from the South.

21.47 - 22.23

It is totally dark: the luminosity is 0%.
My Thermal systems will be able to give me the superiority at long distance.

Red Group
The A. Mech continues to progress slowly through the woods.
The B. Tank arrives at Wattendorf even if the 3. Platoon is late.

White Group
The Recce spotted 3 Mi 24's heading towards the White Group and retreated westwards.

Thanks to the thermal vision another Soviet tank unit was spotted at the same place as the first one. The A. Tank eliminates them all.
Blue Group
The C. Mech joins the A. Tank from the White group. The 2. Platoon is a bit behind.

Yellow Group
The 1/B. Mech moves northwest toward the objective while the rest of the Yellow Group struggles through the town of Hollfeld.

Support
No fire, no movement.

ORDERS

Red Group
I order the entire Red Group to start regrouping east of the hill.

White Group
A. Tank: I decide not to move her off this hill where she can cover the Blue Group's advance with her thermal sensors.

Blue Group
1. and 3. / C Mech: I decide to send these two Platoon 3 km east on the B505 to flush out the ambushes I foresee on this highway. They will be covered by the A. Tank.

Yellow Group

Red Group
The A. Mech comes out of the wood, goes down the hill and starts to regroup. The B. Tank starts to climb the hill to join the A. Mech.

Blue Group
The 1. and 3. / C. Mech advance on the B505 covered by AF barrage fire that falls in the woods ahead of them.
They quickly run into a BMP-2 unit that comes out of the forest and quickly moves up to the north. An exchange of fire causes no casualties and the BMP-2s continue north.



The 2 Platoons continue to advance and spot a mechanized company in the forest. An exchange of fire causes no casualties.



White Group
A 3rd tank unit is spotted coming out of Stadelhoffen. The 2. Platoon of the A. Tank eliminates 2 of them but the ENY continues to advance west.
The 3 Mi 24's block the St2190 road between 2 minefields and the Stinger team fails to fire on them.

Yellow Group
The 1/B. Mech went up to Buckendorf without encountering any Eny

The main column leaves Hollfeld and moves north.

Support
AF fires on designated positions to cover Blue Group advance.

ORDERS

Red Group
Stinger team: sent south to try to deal with Mi 24s.

White Group
Recce: I send it to join the 1. and 3. Platoon of the C. Mech. to be able to recon the B505.

Blue Group
For fear of encountering other Eny units in ambush, I stopped the progression of the 2 Platoons while waiting for the Recce of the White Group.

1/B. Mech: it receives the order to return to Buckendorf.

The Stinger team moves south in search of the Mi 24s which have retreated to the east.

White Group
Thanks to the thermal vision of my tank a BMP-2 unit is spotted leaving Wotzendorf (6 km east).
The Recce leaves the hill occupied by my tanks and goes to join the 2 Platoon of the Blue Group on the B505 and it comes across the Eny unit which is running away from the artillery fire of the AF. A few exchanges of fire but no losses for my unit.

On the B22, a company of BMP-2 heading towards Steinfeld is spotted. It is entirely destroyed by my tanks of the 2./A. Tank
Blue Group
The 1 and 3/C. Mech stop their advance.

Yellow Group
The 1/B. Mech arrives at Buckendorf.

The HQ/C. Tank and the 3/B. Mech go up to Buckendorf

The rest of the Yellow Group finally arrives on the B505.

Support
AF fires on Mechanized infantry in the woods and destroys vehicles before they flee to the west.

Red Group
I continue to place units in preparation for the assault: the A. Mech 2km north of the objective (out of range of Eny night vision systems) and the B. Tank on the hill east of the minefields.

White Group
Recce : it has orders to get as close as possible to the objective by the B505 to spot the Eny ambushes.

Blue Group
The 2/ C. Mech : receives the order to advance on the St2190 and to pass between the 2 minefields.

The 1. and 3. / Mech are still waiting for the Recce of the White Group to face a reconnaissance of the B505

Yellow Group
The 1/B Mech: must prepare to launch an assault on the objective of the East crossroads. I don't think this objective is very well defended and this may force the opponent to clear the defenses of the other 2 objectives.

HQ/C. Tank and 3/B. Mech: As the Wotzendorf seems to be abandoned by the Eny, I send these 2 units to take the city.

3/C. Tank protected by the Stinger team: I send them to the Pfaffenstein hill which is 500m high in order to search the Eny artillery in this area with their thermal sensors.

The placement of the units continues but the 3 Mi24 are observed again. With luck they did not spot me.

The A. Tank continues to monitor the objective of its position.

The Recce arrives at 500m from Stadelhoffen and observes.

The 2/C. Mech starts to progress on the St2190.

Yellow Group
The 1/B. Mech advances on the B505 to begin his assault.

The HQ/C. Tank discovers an Eny unit south of Wotzendorf (probably artillery observed at 8:00 PM) and eliminates it before returning to town.
Once arrived in town, the HQ/C. Tank spots an AD unit on the objective of the crossroads and destroys 1 vehicle.
