In any case have you posted this as a mod somewhere? I would like to try it.

Thanks.
No I have a 5k 27" monitor. I run at scaling 100% and use screen resolution of 2560 x 1440.

Attached is my font files, I forgot I switched to using Windows fonts and found the best ones and font size to suite my tastes. YMMV.

I don't know I have gone through several implementations and finally settled on these ones. They might be, or they might not be. Knowing myself somewhat well (lol :D) they most likely are, I usually place mods up after I fully test them and make them JSME compliant.

All these in this file are standard Windows font and I was satisfied with them.

Thanks, Zovs.

I am curious to see what you got. Aside from some slight truncation on the counters is there anything else specific I should look at?

Nice counters! :). I would play the game even if we reverted back to the War in Russia counters.

The latest patch even fixed the issue of HQs using the hospital symbol.

The 1993 War in Russia was ultra modern. Now this is the early days of computer wargaming, War in Russia 1984:

Now that is beyond retro lol that be ancient and reminds me of that old song...

I'll tell you this...
No eternal reward will forgive us now
For wasting the dawn
Back in those days everything was simpler and more confused
One summer night, going to the pier
I ran into two young girls
The blond one was called Freedom
The dark one, Enterprise
We talked and they told me this story
Now listen to this...
I'll tell you about Texas radio and the big beat
Soft driven, slow and mad
Like some new language
Reaching your head with the cold, sudden fury of a divine messenger
Let me tell you about heartache and the loss of God
Wandering, wandering in hopeless night
Out here in the perimeter there are no stars
Out here we is stoned
Immaculate

Absolutely beautiful!!!!! I did not play the 1984 version. I was POOR back then making only $2,000 for the year. As such I had to choose very carefully what I bought... Kampgroupe & a Commodore took the majority of my years salary back then! LOL. But DAMN was it worth it!

Eventually I graduated to Carrier Force but Bards Tale II was the ultimate time sync. Dang those were some good times!

What is that half-track in the Kampfgruppe cover in the top left supposed to represent? Looks like a US-GER hybrid.

I have to say that like most posts here I enjoy the look of the counters and the NATO symbols. I've been playing wargames off and on since the 70's and still have (I'm mildly embarrassed to say) most of my old AH and SPI games. GG WiTE (1&2) remind me of the SPI title with same exact name. As I recall there were plenty of support units in that game as well. Though battalion/regiment in size if you had arty or antitank in your stack then it modified the die roll +/- x amount. All the tedium of that massive game and opponents hard to find. As another poster commented no tweezers necessary now and I can drill down into the detail of each unit with a click or two. Now the computer does all the drudge work (even if I struggle to understand it) and I always have a ready opponent in the AI. Those "throw back" counters are one of the things I truly love about the game.

Also, if the OP thinks this game is expensive:https://www.nobleknight.com/P/214742761 ... nd-Edition
They are out of stock on SPI WiTE but the similar title War in Europe sells for $550

What is this "Road to Moscow"? I never heard the story. I mean the game; not the war.

I will post this on behalf, Joel. This is really retro wargaming.

Right next to this foot print was found this game, being played out.

On the left side image, we see the center and two flanks. On the right side image, we see two waves about to hit the right flank in an attempt to over power it and roll up the line. This is the earliest known war game; even before Joel was doing BGs
