It is a fresh install, just witpae from the dvd, then straight to WarinthePacificAdmiralsEdition-UpdateComp-v1127Beta. Nothing else has ever been installed.

Odd. Corrupted data perhaps? Whatever is wrong it likely can't be fixed at this point. Which is a shame since you are already up to April 1942 in your game. If starting again from scratch I'm thinking it be best to go with installing the latest beta v.1128 over a fresh install of the base game as it omits all the new off-map bases that were added in v.1127 and which didn't prove to be all that popular with players.

The Aden and Abadan issues are from using a non-stock map with the stock map data, or vice-versa. I don't play with the extended map but I think there is discussion of maps on the New Beta thread. Maybe the new Beta uses the extended map (which was originally intended for the Da Big Babes mods). If you made any change of map art you must ensure you get the right data files for that version.
