Hello Gary,

Thanks very much for the mod. I am a crusty old veteran, but an *old* one nonetheless. So, I need more guidance on the install.

It does not seem to be a fancy "atzip" file that installs automatically from the main menu. And there are very many sub-folders in the main "graphics" folder, so not sure where to install the individual files you provide.

Anything you can to to help is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,

Mike

Hi, Rosseau. I had made the new graphics for the benefit of modders who might like to use them in their custom mods, however, you have given me an idea for creating a mod that I can upload as an atzip file. If I can figure out a way to do that, then I'll try to create a mod that will use the new graphics instead of the original.

Do you have a favorite mod that you like to play in ATG? For example, do you prefer to play the Four Seasons Mod by Ormand? Or do you like to play stock random games? Or what do you play when you play ATG? Let me know and I'll see if I can create a zip file that will put the new graphics into that version of ATG that you like to play. I'll try to create a separate install button for it so that you can simply push a button on the load up screen to initiate a simple change in Subformation Graphics.

It'll take a little time but I'll see if I can accomplish that. You've given me a great idea for ATG. :)

My third prototype for a fighter. The first prototype I aborted and the second prototype made it to rendering but didn't look very good. Any comments on Fighter Mk 3?

Here's a different propeller render along with what I plan to use for Navy color on planes.

I like the new propeller better, but I am fond of the first color. Might be because I associate the 2nd one with something being metallic. That would only go if you had air supremacy.

Here's the latest. I made the propeller a bit of a cross between the first one and the second one with a blur. How does this one look?

Here's another idea. Since each air SF would probably be a squadron in most cases, I added a wingman to give the illusion of an air unit.

Thoughts? LIkes, dislikes?

Hi Gary,

I'm glad that in my ignorance I may have given you an idea. Despite all the years, I am actually a beginning player when it comes to understanding the nuances of this game, so you may have the wrong guy to work with your mod.

Ever since the latest patch (and European Diplomacy Remastered coming with an AI), I have spent a couple of months lightly editing and modding that great scenario for my own use. I am using the Phoenix engine on start-up and figured the WW2 motif would help me understand the mechanics better than using a random game, which I will undertake after learning what I am doing.

So, the very best wishes to you and the other modders out there. It is incredible after all this time how well this game and the editing system continues to improve. It was a work of genius at the start, and is certainly deserving of all the love it has been given from the modding community.

I really like what you've done with the propeller. It looks realistic. Also Like seeing it with another plane, both the fighters and the different dive bombers :)

Just finished a torpedo bomber, Navy color only.

Thanks, Nicdav! My project is to create a comprehensive library of subformation graphics as I go along, starting with my own versions of the vanilla ATG subformations. From there, I hope to eventually put together a large collection of subformation graphics from various time periods, possibly going back to Napoleon and stretching to the 21st Century.

Transport plane is done. I think the last planes I need are the strategic bomber and the Kamikaze.

I've made a complete set of the standard ATG subformations. As a quick mod, I'll put them in a zip file that uses the same names as the standard ATG random scenario subformations so that anyone who wants to try out the new units can replace them quickly without any tinkering in the editor. All you'll need to do is unzip the contents of the file into the /graphics/at2/fordsf folder and you're ready to go.

Below are some in-game previews. I took screenshots of.

Came up with a couple of backgrounds for my aircraft. One is over the ocean for naval planes and the other is over land for army planes.

Nice previews. One small problem with your solution of how to set this up for ATG (and Phoenix). Every time an update is made, those directories are updated too. So... that would overwrite your work. No biggie though, you can always apply it again, but it is worth noting.

Oh, and it won't work on Steam versions, as they'd detect it as a faulty install, and overwrite it.
