And I was just thinking that they, somehow, must find profit in spam since they spend so much energy doing it. I was furthermore thinking that we must be idiots that allow them to profit from it. And I do not like feeling like an idiot. So, therefore, I continued thinking on how to remove the profit from spamming. And then I was informed that I needed to respond in my play by email game. And that made me feel less like an idiot, and more like an loser since I need to withdraw from battle in my game.
Bah.

another day and yet another waste of space joins us, lets all welcome the new spammer and crown them idiot of the week, or hour award as we do seem to get more than out fair share now days
shame they have no life other than to spoils others, i feel for them and do honestly wish there parents had used protection.
It's difficult to embarrass an algorithm which spammers mostly are nowadays. I'm beginning to think our only stopgap with the current bots would be to flag any future post with the term Viagra in it.

Another option would be to block the IP and MAC addresses. Possibly reporting them to their ISP.
One thing that just might be illegal would be to infect their computer with a program that rewrites their Bios while also reformatting their hard drive, writing "1" and then "0" for every bit on their hard drive.

Probably not legal, but it sounds devious. I like it.

if it was me, I would have a duplicate forum, that new commers post to BUT they dont know its duplicate, its only visible to memers, even the world only sees the duplicate. if after a test time all is ok then they can post in main forum. if not you leave them posting in duplicate that is then invisible.
or just redirect them to duoplicate untill they are worthy.
maybe let members post in the spammers duplicate
then have all sorts of katasophies happen like timeouts etc... when i first used the internet i found a site to look through a shuttles space window, so i clicked it and it said a gov warning , i was gob smacked it was so funny after i realised it was a joke, maybe do something like that like warning an A.I. is on there case
we could leave the forum link on main page that leads to duplicate, and have a secret button for members then after a trial period new members get to know about secret button, is this all sounding like fun, then let members have some fun spamming the duplicate see how they like it . hehehehe
the duplicate form gets refreshed every day or even hour from main members forum, so its always ok for the world to view, but overwrites the posts from spam etc..
the idea needs work but your get what im saying

The last bot joined on Oct 20th and was able to do 10 posts or so the same day. Definitely, limiting a new comer to one post per day during one week is something that should be done imo. I will not solve everything but this is a start.

We don't want to be too restrictive on new people, who might just see a topic they like and get really engaged in talking about said topic...
It's a delicate balance, we DO want new people, we just don't want bots...
