Smashing Enemy Subs - 13 Jan 1942

The situation in the air over Palembang isn't so great, but over in the South Pacific it's another story. Other than losing a single Destroyer-Minesweeper, Macho's sub campaign around Noumea is proving to be a costly endeavor. Yet another enemy sub falls victim to my ASW-trained aircraft. At his current rate of loss, we will clear every enemy sub from the waters of New Caledonia within a week, paving the way for unrestricted operations in these waters for my ships.

Final Preparations - 14 Jan 1942

The time has come to head off to destiny, we can't wait any longer. Against the advice of my supporters we are leaving now and not waiting for more time or preparations. Palembang must be taken, no matter the cost, even if it dooms our campaign. We sail today.
In China, we are positioned for a big tomorrow. Three enemy base are in the crosshairs.
In SOPAC, our ASW efforts have proven very effective, driving all the enemy subs far north from Noumea allowing us to form up and prepare for battle.

Fortress Palembang INVADED! - 15 Jan 1942

This was a big turn! To start it all off, we have initiated our invasion of Palembang!
In China, we have a big day, with huge wins and big gains all over the countryside. Macho is in full retreat for the hills and we are feasting on all the newfound resource generation sites.

The Java Finger Trap - 16 Jan 1942

While we wait for reinforcements at Palembang, I decided it was time to initiate the invasion of Java. We already have a precarious bridgehead on Merak (which we paid dearly this turn cling to), so now it's time to land on the East side near Surabaya. After that, it'll be time to compress the island of Java like a giant finger trap.

C-Class Cruiser Extinction - 17 Jan 1942

Macho decided to send his last-remaining C-class cruiser at our landing forces on Eastern Java, and unfortunately he ran into much bigger guns (and more of them). As far as we can tell, the C-Class cruiser on the map is now extinct.

We Launched a Seriously Misguided Attack - 18 Jan 1942

I had a mistake near Tenshui, but I'll just blame the generals on the ground. I had bad recon, and I did not respect the 1/3 rule as it pertains to river crossings and shock attacks, and we paid the price for it today.

Steady Progress in China - 19 Jan 1942

Despite some setbacks yesterday with the horrendous shock attack at Tenshui, we are getting back on track and preparing for another major offensive from top to bottom in China.

Someone's Getting FIRED After This!! - 20 Jan 1942

This turn was a giant pile of trash. What I thought were small or non-existent minefields turned into giant ones and two of our best ships are now damaged, and multiple destroyers are now down.
On top of that, Macho pulled off an excellent CAP TRAP on us over Bataan, a base I thought was previously suppressed, leading to heavy casualties. I need some bleach to get this stain of a turn out of here.

First Attack on Fortress Palembang! - 21 Jan 1942

As I try to rinse off the horrible stench of yesterday's Mine-Fest, we launch our first attack on Fortress Palembang with our newly-landed troops. How do you think we'll fair against all that is arrayed before us?

China's Fuel is Cut Off For Good! - 22 Jan 1942

Some great news: We've just cut off the last source of fuel and oil for the Chinese in Burma, meaning Macho's race to the bottom for supply exhaustion just got more serious for him.

I'm really enjoying the show - thanks! What I like about your Discord channel is the ability to follow along from both sides. I also like that you've set up a fairly good library of maps, scenarios, and tools for this game on your channel.

We Dodged a Bullet In The Oil Fields! - 23 Jan 1942

We captured Magwe fully intact but for some reason the 80+ fighters I had stationed there were completely useless and the expected B-17 raid from Calcutta slipped right by and dropped a deadly payload on the target. Needless to say I was quite upset! How bad was the damage?

The Dutch Air Force is Effectively Neutralized - 24 Jan 1942

With Surabaya captured and restored to operational status, we launch a fighter sweep over the Bandung Airfield to bring a swift end to the last bastion of Dutch fighters. There may be a few stragglers hanging about in the DEI, but today was effectively the end of organized fighter resistance in the region.

I have no idea who's running the show over on Sumatra, but they just caused us a lot of unnecessary casualties. Our forces attacked for a second day in a row at Palembang and our troops are totally exhausted now... but how did the Allies fare? Not as well as you may think.

Our First Attack At Bataan went Badly - 27 Jan 1942

Today was the day I'd been planning on for weeks, our first assault on Bataan. Unfortunately it went badly, and I'm not at all enthusiastic about our chances of neutralizing the final defenders on Luzon before the end of January 1942.

I should have seen it coming but my lack of experience shows when I allow yet another massive CAP trap occur over Bataan. This is one of the highest single-day losses I've ever endured in this game.

I thought I was going to get one more crack at Macho's retreating aircraft from the Philippines but instead I was met with a truly worrying sight... The P-38 has made its combat debut, and we weren't ready for it.
