Anyways, I always got around it by using my special squad (I wanted it mainly to test the database). Since there's no money problems involved, I buy the titan I want to test/play with and take it to the battlefield. Then I sell it and buy another one.

I was at a point were I had to make a break. LOTS of things can be added but I felt if I went on adding more stuff the game would never be finished. The break did happen with release. Now I can listen to gamers and add stuff which the majority is asking for and which can be done in a reasonable time.

I do accept that choosing duell titans can help in testing own designs. Choosing a complete random team is a different matter and is less likely to be added.

To all players : I do have a vision for this game and will add anything which does make sense and can be done. I won't add stuff which I don't feel giving major improvements.

The roots of TOS is dedication to a vision and making this available to a broad public. It was NOT made to make money at first. Nevertheless I appreciate that YOU are the customers and WE will try to give you want you want .

Much thanks here from Vicious Byte (dev team) to Matrixgames to give us the freedom and patience we did need to complete the job.

IMHO, if vehicles are less capable than mechs (sorry, not sure I can ever call them anything else), then they are just targets, if vehicles are just as capable, then, if they were cheaper to build, there would be no mechs, or if they cost more, there would be no vehicles.

So, a simplistic case, but I really like a good dose of believablility in my wargame.
Fine points, all! I was thinking more of just using vehicles as a flavor element, like stationary LR/SR and STS launchers to defend bases, things that would pose a different sort of threat to a squad of assaulting titans. I sure wouldn't be wasting any money on vehicles for my own use, that's for sure.

Maybe "buildings that shoot back" would be a better way to implement something like that. Radar and STS missile installations, things of that nature. But I'm sure Larkin is just chomping at the bit to code whole new AI routines for them to use. ;)

Oh boy. I would LOVE to add weapon towers. No stomping at all.

But this would also mean adding them in the editor and other time consuming stuff. But its definatly on my personal wishlist.

I wasn't criticizing, I was glad you agreed to doing it. Of course, I know why you didn't do it before, like some other stuff.
I begged for turrets too, and some other cool buildings, when doing the maps. Some much can be done with that kind of stuff :D
Vehicles, nope, I don't miss them.
