Kushan,
Got back that opacity indeed can't be set, yet, by Lua.
I opt for 2.

Option 2 together with a screenshot of option1 in the mission briefing as the weather forcast.

Not a bad idea. I really should have more imaged in my mission briefings.

Regarding forecast, OEC is a perfect example of the weather predictions being wrong. The Air Force ingress routes were planned with the nominal wind direction and speed in mind, so that the smoke would blow away from the incoming strike aircraft. What they got was the one day in April where the winds shifted 180 degrees in the opposite direction, creating an headwind for the incoming strike aircraft, both slowing them down significantly and blowing smoke from each strike at the following aircraft.

New update has been posted.

I've implemented the planned custom environment zones. I love the extra bit of immersion they bring to the scenario, but I'll be honest and admit that all the CEZ's except the ones covering the objective areas don't really matter to the outcome of the scenario with the current way weather is implemented in Command. Visually, I decided to turn the zone names off (leave the name field blank) and set the zones to transparent. The zones are still there but visually it'll look like the map normally does.

The other big change/addition to this version is I've split the political and strategic setup options (overflight requests, strike options, etc.) to their own menu. It can be accessed by a new special action that is available at the start of the scenario. This will let you review your own forces and the map before making those decisions. Actions related to scenario setup and Libya are still on the scenario options menu that appears after the briefing.
