Questions about Airfields...
I believe engineers can build them, right?
Can they be captured, or do they "evaporate" when an enemy ground unit overruns them, like regular temporary forts do?
BTW I think are only an option for campaign mods, they're not in the standard campaigns in WiE

As above. I cannot access my PBEM games due to server error. Also, all my mods have disappeared except TRP. Anyone else with the same problem?

The PBEM connection seems to be borked at the moment, wish they could figure out a way of doing updates to the game without this happening almost every time!

Also, will the in-game mods come back? I was using the Iron Cross graphics and now there are no mods available.

They are normal resources, so added in the same way, i.e. via the Editor, and consequently they are not removed from the map when captured, although their strength might be reduced.

Hey all,
Any ETA on when this "PBEM++ server communication error" is going to be resolved? It's been something like 15 hours now.

Usually a day or two in the past, post-patch, which has happened kind of frequently lately it seems. Its up to Matrix/Slitherine to get it done.

Well yeah, since I am working on a custom campaign, and wondered about whether I should sprinkle airbases all over creation, this is a very pertinent concern. Them not being buildable by engineers limits their utility I would conclude, alas.

Received the "my turn" email for my ongoing game, but the server communication error still prevents playing.

It looks like a new update was posted for the Matrix version of the game here, e.g. via the My Page and Download Files for War in Europe, we hope this fixes the issue for everyone.
If you're playing with a steam version, the game will need a small update.
If it does not do it automatically, verify the game files in the steam library.
To verify the files, right click on the game in your steam library, click on Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files

This seems to have worked for the PBEM, but the in-game mods are still missing.

Like 3 posts up, my opponent did his turn, but now I can't do mine. Still getting "server error." I don't have my game thru Steam. Just on PC.
What is next step here?

Check if the DLC "Community Pack" is activated in steam.

If you go to your My Page and Download Files for War in Europe, you'll see the updated patch is there, it will just need to be downloaded and installed.

Thanks. I didn't realize I would have to redownload the file and that there was another update v1.30.00.01.
I am in now.

It appears that the Community Pack was automatically deselected by Steam for some (though not all) users.
If this has affected you, to reactivate it:
Right click on the game in your library, select Properties and then the DLC tab, and make sure the DLC is selected.

I recall a mention in the forums about a bug whereby air units were able to occupy enemy-controlled cities (maybe resources in general?) without them first being occupied by friendly land units.
I’ve looked over the 1.30.00 update notes… was this indeed a confirmed bug and if so, has this issue been addressed? Thanks.
