Other programs that use the same CPU channel can interfere with the game. If that slideshow program is part of Windows 11, you are using CPU channel 1, and Windows will find all kinds of reasons to keep bumping your game. I suggest you use the switch -cpu3 to avoid all those other program interruptions.
Another issue someone brought up about screen behaviour is that Windows transparency setting can cause bleed-through if it is ON. He recommended you set transparency to opaque or OFF.

Victory!
Added -cpu3. Turned off Windows transparency. Changed from - px1919 -py1080 to -px1366 -py768.
And I have a full screen display on my laptop. Very nice!

New observation. I'm 6 turns into a new campaign. Noticred that clicking on Disband TF button called up the Yes or No window but nothing happened when clicking on Yes as well as No. Appeared frozen. Pressing the Esc key closed the window. The game continues with no issues.
New behavior - clicking on Disband TF button, the Y or N window appears. Press Y disbands the TF. Pressing N closes the window. Any thoughts?

It has been changed in recent patch to prevent accidental disbanding of TF since reforming it can cost Political Points. You need to use Y or N on keyboard. Mouse click is disabled with this one.
