I will post something hopefully this weekend to show some progress again.
At the moment the task at hand remains finding all the dialogs with graphics on them, and converting them to use Direct2D - or in same cases with most little dialogs - to use native GDI for simplicity. Converting everything as-is, new UI dialogs, next, in fall, likely. For instance, a completely revised Unit List system, with individual dialogs for units, hex information, etc. Also, toolbar to be revised too, I hope. But those are topics of some future sneak peek. At the moment: systematically, tediously even, finding and replacing all graphics code in game.

Here's the test case at hand, PBEM C01 of Vietnam fame, with French and US troops also available in Cold War OOB. Unit list is mostly converted, now. Next: those little NATO icons in Artillery and Air Strike dialogs, still missing.

Bill "Mausman" Blake's work-in-progress 2D map graphics in their full glory visible here as well. Bravo!

I was wondering when we're gonna get to see all these new goodies and more released for both Vietnam and Middle East?
Am especially pleased to see the 2D maps getting an update, which looks really good.
Thanks.

There should be an update for Middle East and Vietnam later in the year, I'm really trying to finish the British.

Petri mentioned we will likely update the UK in Middle East and then include them in Vietnam.

Cold War is being worked on, but there's a lot to do yet. Thank you for your patience and support.
