First hint : You will NEVER be penalized for shooting with a link partner.
Second hint : Indirect fire skill has to be passed for the attacker to take advantage of linked fire.
Third hint : If range modifier for link partner is better it will be taken BUT best mod from him will be -10%.

Disabled titans do not have a special to hit mod.
Red weapons means they're out of range.
Any hints what could have caused either of these two titans the GMH/GME have a 2% chance to hit a downed mech that was being "lit up" with Flame Throwers and Napalm Missles, or the Neutron Blaster variant functioning for the first portion of the battle from between 2 and 4 hexes away, and then coming up with "no weapons are usable against the target." The NB titans weapons were listed in RED. I thought maybe I was too close, within minimum range or something, but even backing up to a hex I had previously fired from yielded the same thing.
Any help explaining those two situations?

Being prone you might have lost direct line of sight to your target. Titans in indirect sight will be marked with 'X' and can't be hit by direct fire weapons like the neutron. This would also explain 2% for the GM titan as these weapons are capable of indirect fire but you are not proficient with it.
Whoow ! What a brilliant explanation.

Sometimes after falling down, the enemy titan is no longer "visible". Check if the Titan has a black box with a white X in it. In this case, your sensors can detect him, but you have no line of sight. Also, your missiles would have to be fired indirectly, which results in a flat 2% chance with an untrained jock.
Just my 2 cents.

Best sounding one so far. I am gonna reload that game tonight, and look for that X. I have seen it, but didn't know what it meant.
What does the 'O' mean?

No fun reading the manual ? 'O' is your link partner. Before you ask : 'L' is a titan only visible by link.

Hehe I actually thought L meant the linked titan. Thanks a bunch for the help, and I read the manual. Well parts of it at least.
Oh and upon further review the enemy titan described above had fallen in a -19m pit, and my titans didn't have a direct view. I am noticing that you are right about just about everything =)!
