There is also a doctrine "Strike mission focus", that you may change to "Only engage mission specific targets".

Ah yes! I had missed that. I'm going to set some units to 'opportunity scrambling' so they engage AA on their route to and from target. Helps to suppress some of the pesky AAA.

You think you can post a save of your initial mission plan when you're done?

Watching the Eboreg playthrough, he seems to have Mirage's that can hit out to Luxor. I seem to be able to hit the nearest airfields en masse with Magisters but also have Mirages with 500kg bombs which can only strike as far as these closer airfields. I suspect I just haven't looked at aircraft capabilities properly, but the ranges have stood out.
Great, that's my life made considerably more difficult. Let's hope I can recover my stolen hardware soon.
I really should learn not to post from the hip, I looked into the original save I have for that walkthrough (which is linked to in the description) and found that I actually sent Mysteres to Luxor. Your plan with the Magisters and Mirages is actually very similar to what I did.

Thanks Eboreg. I'll post a copy of my mission file once I've managed to pass the mission. I'm currently working out my individual strikes. Using the Magisters to hit targets on the airfields, with them using Opportunity Scramble is working well as they suppress the AAA and hit targets with their rockets. Then I'm using aircraft with 500kg and 250kg bombs to mop up the airfields. I've also hit some of the AAA batteries around the second line of airfields to create corridors in the Egyptian AAA cover for my subsequent raids.

One thing I'm not too sure about, I do my recce work on a couple of airfields to the west. After this I update the target list for my strikes to hit the occupied revetments. But, these flights are already planned and sometimes in the air. To add these new targets do I need to regenerate the flight plans? I'm also assuming that the recce flights can't see units inside hangars?

If the flight hasn't launched add the new targets discovered from the recce mission to the strike mission, delete any targets as needed and update the flightplan. That should be pretty straight forward.
If the mission has launched add the new targets and delete any targets as needed, but what I found (using the latest beta) is that when Update Flightplans is selected after adding the new targets is that the flightplan is no longer visible on the map or in the flightplan editor. However, the mission appeared to follow the originally planned flightpath and did attack the new targets that were added.
Give it a try and see what happens.

AFAIK you cannot differentiate in the targeting priority between an empty tarmac and a tarmac with enemy ACs.
For this reason I requested the possibility of adding targets directly from the map in the targeting priority. This feature would be very useful in Hit hard hit fast scenario, once the recon is done by the Israeli ACs.

Thanks. It would definitely be useful to be able to prioritise units hitting occupied revetments etc.
Just had another playthrough. Managed to get a score of over 2000. Lost quote a few aircraft when the Egyptian Airforce recovered from the initial strikes and got a ton of fighters into the air.
