Mogami -

You had your main carrier TF hitting Marine targets for a few days in the Pacific, and eventually the Marines even got a few Wildcats in the air to contest your forces. Do you think that was a good use of your naval air power at this stage, particularly considering the relatively low number of trained pilots in your pool?

Also, what allowed you to figure out how long and how costly would be the repairs at the base that you captured? Are those fixed number or can you shorten the time by adding in engineers or other specialty troops?

Taking a at the first turn, the losses at Clark Field and Pearl, considering the planes destroyed on the ground, are quite high. Does that have to do with the first turn surprise rules?

Hi You think the Pearl Harbor aircraft destroyed was high? The combat report with FOW lists 192 aircraft destroyed. In actual attack 188 aircraft were destroyed. Surprise limits the AA fire in AM phase, number of fighters on CAP and prevents Allied strikes in AM. In PM everything is back to normal.

Against Clark Field I have a larger then historic strike I believe but still don't think the strike does that much more damage then actual. But the reasons are not historical. The PI airforce did get off the ground and flew for hours before returing just in time to be caught on the ground. They were not wing tip to wing tip like at PH.

I just haven't have this much of success in UV by attacking PM, for example. But on the other hand, there were less planes around

1942 begins with bad results for Japanese in shock attacks. I quess I really have to quit making them.
