Bombing at night would be gamey. I don't do that. He isn't seeing the operation losses I have suffered from doing this. I feel that its a good trade off to keep a few flattops damaged.[:D]

The history books are full of TORPEDO bombing at night (to avoid the fighter defences).

I'm sure the Beauforts would just love a crack at a CV.....

The link below from Peter Dunn's Australia@War site shows the operational dangers of the North Queensland airfields.

16 NOVEMBER 1942 - CRASH OF A B-24 LIBERATOR

I have further information on this incident which indicates the mission was a 2300 hrs (11pm) takeoff for a direct flight with arrival over Rabaul at dawn.

Another incident under similar circumstances 10 days later. Definately a hazardous occupation.

26 NOVEMBER 1942 - CRASH OF A B-24 LIBERATOR

This internet site has been quoted many times but it is still worth checking out as it contains much information relevent to this theatre of operations.

Haven`t played PBEM yet but have to say don`t like the sound of this "dont bomb my CVs in port" crap. War is war. Use everything in the book to win. If he bombs u at night do the exact same back.

EXACTLY

war is war, otherwise they wouldnt call it WAR

war = raw, backwards as u know

ive never heard the explanation of war phrased so eloquently

i know sum1, (not here) that could use a good explanation of war
