Hi,

Just my two cents: While the screenshots look great with regard to size and detail of the map, my first impression was: This looks very green - shouldn't it be more brown or beige? I never visited Crete and I don't know how the island look like in May ... but that was at least my expectation and maybe I am wrong ...

If you are referring to the screenshots in this thread they are of Greece I believe.

i have one question.

In HTTR it was possible to have armored units moving through woods.
I wonder if this will be the same in COTA .
Also, is armored movement prohibited in steep hill or mountain areas?
I ask cause i am greek and i know the terrain of the areas.
In many cases, there are not many options for the movement of armored or mech formations.Forests and hills-mountains create certain mobility corridors between them, which force the armored-mech movement to certain directions.
Thank you.

whoops, i think this game won't cost me 60dollars. 1500 dollars would be more accurate as I will have to buy myself a decent rig for this one. I don't think my pitiful 550 mhz will make it.[;)]

The maps looks great, but i agree with Hobbes, I think BilH brown map mod would be more appropriate to recreate the greek and cretan countryside. Or were you afraid that it would look too grey-brownish which isn't the most stimulating of colors.

And concerning the bottom of screen menu, GREAT IDEA. But to make it even better, I think you guys should use it in a way that possible orders appears only when a unit is selected. That way, it'll clean some space for you to add a unit icon in what is now the menu. So what you think?
Some more eye candy can't be bad, heh?

Don't worry guys, the textures are getting completely re-worked. Dave and Paul demoed a version with the HTTR graphics, those are not the final COTA graphics. If Dave gives permission I wil post an example or two with the new (still in progress) graphics.

Bil,

Thanks a lot - any after seeing HTTR, I am sure that no one is really worried about anything coming from Panther Games [:)]

By the way, Miller Logan is of course right, the map is a map of Greece, not of Crete (Actually, this explains the "strange" layout of the land that doesn't really seem to fit into my idea of Crete - shame on me ...
