Thanks for your responses! I suppose I don't have hard evidence that every moslem country is in cahoots. What I do know from Pew poll studies is that a substantial proportion of moslems in every moslem country support the terrorists and their cause. When I see figures that state that 65% of the population support terrorism I can see where that could render a more moderate government irrelevant. The truth is that terrorists are more popular in moslem countries than most elected leaders are in so-called western democracies. I'm not against playing ANY scenarios, including ones that didn't happen. Personally, I'm tired of fighting the Russians and the Chinese,as I see these countries not only as potential, but essential allies in this upcoming confrontation.But that's just me.

I agree with you on most of this, but I still enjoy playing games about the war that might have been as well as the wars that have been. I guess that was the gist of my original posting.

That is exactly what they want. These Islamic facists want a world in chaos so that Islam can rise as the dominant influence, replacing Western influence. If New York or London or Paris were destroyed by a nuclear device, the Arab world would rejoice and dance in the streets. If as a result people started gunning down Islamics in the streets then that would also be exactly what they want. What more would bolster their cause in the "Arab street" than to see hundreds of innocent muslums being gunned down in the streets of America? Then America would be the monster and Islamics the victims. Again, these people don't care what the rest of the world thinks about them, they are only interested in results. They firmly believe that thier god is on thier side and it is only a matter of time. They will do whatever it takes regardless of world opinion because they have absolutely no use for world opinion.

Sadly, I have to agree. But as a citizen of the United States I can assure you that we are very much concerned about world opinion. I can certainly understand why many in the rest of the world view us so negatively. That doesn't mean I agree with thier reasoning or think that everything we do is wrong, but I think I understand their fears. If I was viewing the US from the outside looking in, I'm pretty sure I'd have some concerns and doubts too.
