My undestanding of the aircraft production is:

first step: engine production

If enough HI are available, engines are produced and cost 18 HI each (each point of factory will roughly produce one engine a month)

second step: aircraft production

If there are enough engines in the pool for the plane considered, airframes are produced at the cost of 18 + 18 per engine (again) and then the engines are retired from the engine pool and a new plane is added to the airplane pool

Mr Frag says the same as me somewhere on this forum

Here is where you lose me. Manual pg 179 says "For example, a two engine plane will cost 36 HI. single engine plane 18 HI" or words to that effect. Where do you get that extra 18 HI? I know the engines each cost 18 HI themselves.

Seems you're right. I get confused somewhere between the total cost of a single-engine plane and the total cost. And then I get more confused with bigger planes.

I need some sleep. I promise I will not touch a computer and play WITP for at least... 6 hours.

I will correct my file. Tomorrow. Too late now in France (2 am). Thanks for pointing it out

Not a problem at all. I was doing my own version of the plane cost formula and add the cost of the engine in there to help me track the REAL cost of each type of plane. But your formula was confusing me. Get some rest. [8D]
