Seems to be a bug which is or will be corrected. Does AD/AS nationality still inhibit loading in version 1.21?

I do not believe it is a bug and doubt it will be corrected.. It makes since.. ADs simply do not have the room to carry around torpedoes for every nationality.. They were designed to carry torps for their own navy, not everyones... Now if they all used the same torp, that would be different, but they don't.. Each nationality (US, RN, Dutch - not sure about Oz) used a different torp in their subs and DDs. The only way to reload them is a port...
Most likely the same will happen with MLEs.. but I don't believe anyone starts the game with any (at least not Dec 7 games)..

Also, I do not believe that the Dutch will get any AD, ASs, MLEs and am not sure about OZ or the RN... Perhaps someone else can answer this... I wonder if you convert a ship in Karachi (insteado of San Fran) will it come out as a RN Ship.... Or if they keep their original nationality - either way if the brits want some tenders, simply convert some of their AKs..

Xargun

I don't see where you can convert in Karachi. I think it is only San Francisco.

Ok here is the scoop.

Bug – AS and AD class ships were not reloading torpedoes onto subs or DDs of the same nationality. This has been fixed.

Not a bug – An AS or AD from one nationality could not reload torpedoes onto a sub or DD of a different nationality. This has been change so that allied ASs and ADs can reload allied subs and DDs.

I suspect this has been answered before, but is it possible to resupply the Dutch minelayers? I'd really like to put a couple of thousand mines into Rangoon harbor.

You can always build one of the Dutch ports up to size 9.

AS and AD

What about Allied AR and MLE? (Oh yeah, and AGCs if the AGC is US and the LCU landing is Brit or other allied).

Are all the "Auxilliary Ship Specialities" just "allied and not based on nationality amongst the allies?

Is it the case that if you send Dutch, Australian or Britsh AK's to San Francisco for conversion to AS or AD, then, (after 180 days), you can solve this problem....

If that is so, then the Australian Merchant marine should be correctly listed... (see my post in OOB comments).

If this is not a bug, then dutch subs are next to useless after they run out of ammo and after the fall of the DEI(due to short range from size 9 ports). The Dutch and British should have their own AS's and AD's.

Why is this not in the manual???

What about minelayers, do the British and Dutch need their own MLE's?

If the torpedo is too small you just wrap some rags and old underwear and such around it to get a rough fit. If too small you have the biggest guy in the crew hammer the end of it with a mallet until it scrunches into the tube.

Works with mortar shells, too.

I think the pertinent bit is:

If I'm reading it right - Allied AS's and AD's will now reload _all_ allied subs and DD's regardless of nationality where before they didn't.

If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll find out tonight when I try to reload my Dutch subs at Darwin with an AS rescued from the PI [:)]

Subs always have a use as a slow as hell transport of troops or supplies[>:].
Dutch Minelayers. Can they be upgraded? If so perhaps they can be used as an alternate
escort ship for convoys? Every AA gun is useful. IMO.[:)]

There are two Dutch AS - Zuiderkruis and Colombia. Both start at Soerabaja - get them out! What is seriously missing is the half-dozen or so Royal Navy tenders and repair ships.

Yeah, we need those in. We ran out of time, basically, before release. It was fortunate that Joel and Rich got the Canadian and Dutch vessels, along with the USN additions in past the deadline.
