I was playing the game against myself.

That explains the mystery. Yes I'd say it's indeed a bug, or undesired "feature" [:D]

When you said "enemy saw exact no. of mines" I didn't understand how he managed to see it, since he has no access to the "base info screen"? Now I see enemy was the same person ie. you.

Unfortunatelly this thread got pretty cluttered. Some things were reported as bugs, that aren't, and this IS a bug, and I hope developers and betas will take notice...

I believe the mine symbol changes to yellow as well, instead of the red or green.
