Since you will answer monday, Ill redo my turn and sent it to you this weekend, I only done about 1/3 of the things i needed to do and planned to do them this weekend after getting the turn back from you. It will be hard to spend the time needed to do the large amount of movements during the week for me.

I have done a play test and i have noticed that Russian air units went up about 100% in exp ( 30 exp to 60 exp) and most of the German air units all dropped about 30% exp ( 90 to 65 exp) . I think in all fairness, the Germans should be able to set there airwings on training missions to hold there current high level of exp.

do you agree?

You are right, but 99 exp german fighter squadrons with 200 plane each would kill our game as well. My 2 solution offers:

1. You put away your planes on a hq with max replacement of 60, and you can train them as long as you want (that means 99 exp and about 120 planes)

2. Or you can train your planes up to 75 exp to keep the exp edge with no other restricions. (200 planes with 99 exp is unrealistic I think).

i thought if you set an air group on training it had a maximum experience it could eventually reach, say 70-75% experience. so what you guys are saying is your air units can train to 99% on their own? i know in the readme they are supposed to only self-train to 70% or so, and the rest you have to 'earn the hard way'...

From my experience with training it can go above 90, it gets slower and slower but it gets there. And we speak about one year training here.

We are finding it hard to agree on rules......As this is a different game, I think different rules are needed to make it a better game.

Rules agreed on so far,

Wieschi's house rules
1, change....You can not change the command of a korp HQ after getting special supply.
8, change 41 to 42
9, change 4 to 5 fighters
12, change 3 me109 to, 3 me109/ira-80/fokker
16, delete
add 22, no changing HQ's line of command

the turn before war (5/42) Russia is to move all korps to remove all her ent.

I would like to hear some other peoples thoughts

something is wrong with my kingtiger_501@hotmail account, Plz send new e-mails to kingtiger_502@hotmail.com plz.

My concerns that I have noticed that need some adjustments...
Remember this is a very pro Russian game!!

Germany's airforce exp going down while Russia's is going up
Low fw190a production
The amount of Russian mobile korps in 1942
The exact date that the Russia know that Germany is attacking
No limmit on Russia's forces at all, everything could be removed from the frontlines on the turn before war

If we get a big intrest in this game I was wondering if we could get someone to post our thoughts, plans and turns ( all plots can be seen!!) on the forum to make it a mind blowing exp? If this does happen, we can only read of the game when it is over.

perhaps until russia is at war with germany any sov unit within 10 hexes of a german unit may only plot their way out after may 1st, and not move at all before may 1st. sov HQ's within 10 hexes of a german unit can't move at all until at war, and i suggest neither can the air wings.

as a third party i can offer my dbase editing services on may 1st to remove all entrenchment on the map, if that helps. also if you guys like i can paste the 6/22/41 experience on all the wings on so you both start with the original wing experiences, as it buys germany a surprise attack and few turns of air superiority. possum sov wings start with a fair amout of experience, but i could also make the minimum starting wing experience for both sides at 40 or 50, not touching the wings already more experienced, just so some wings don't get clobbered. i'd thought i'd offer just in case your current plan doesn't work out so you could still salvage the game attempt!

to post your game you can put your comments in a document, then post it 3 game months later so the other side gets no current clues. if you send me a turn every 2 or 3 game months i'll see if i can make a map you can post - no units, just the previous and current front line. seeing the front is better than trying to describe it!

Geez, will you guys start the dang game already? Pretty soon you'll be hiring lawyers to work out the rules!

I like your ideas as Germany needs some sort of surprise against Russia. Setting the exp of airwing level to the original levels is a great idea. Having units in sort of the same position and plotting them out of harms way is also a good idea. The only problem is getting tom1939 to agree!! He dont like the idea of losing part of his great army!!

well, i didn't simulate it or anything, but even w/o entrenchment if all of his unit's readiness is up then i would say YOU would have the hard time with the first 'surprise' thrust - i think it might actually take you a few turns to finally take his frontier forces out. but i don't think tom has anything to worry about because for 1 his inf pools are at 30,000 right now, and 2 there is no extra supply or extra rail conversion so there's little chance you can make it to moscow this year!

i don't think tom will agree to what i'm going to suggest right now, but i could also paste on all the old readiness and experience levels of all the divisions too so it will be a 'purer' surprise. i think even if i did this tom would still be in excellent shape since all his re-inforcements are already all out and filled, so even if this is a total german surprise attack, technically tom is already fully mobilized and prepared to defend the rodina! just like, say, if stalin had a big advance warning from the brits and heeded it...

We are already in turn 10, and I'm fully used the time to prepare my troops. We make turns quite fast as there is not much to do. The fun will begin in 42 may.
I dont think this game would be about defending Moscow, only if I'm utterly outplayed (quite possible, but we will see),
After 42 june 1, when I have my 12 tank armies it will be quite dangerous to attack with anything for the germans.
Nice little attrition warfare should be effective.
