I heard the same thing but for the life of me, I could not see him. I assumed he had on a wig or makeup or something. The latest version is more accuarte from a historical point of view but it is hard to let go of boyhood heros even if it is not accuarte. As a kid, who did not like JW? But the true story, at least in my point of view, the early JW version was not quite correct in a lot of areas and this latest version, while not perfect either, is more historically accuarte.ORIGINAL: Ron Howards dad did have a cameo in this movie, also Ron Howard was a co producer of some sort.
But who cares? I like both.....
