I just checked out the OOB link 2ndACR posted earlier. Very interesting. I noticed that there was some information on the Royal Thai army. I had no idea they sported a whopping 7 divisions! Any plans on adding Thailand to the Japanese OOB?
I would advise against adding a Thai OOB. IIRC, the Thais only co-operated briefly with the Japanese -- to the extent of providing some military support for the Japanese push into Northern Burma for the first month or so. Given the Thais profound lack of interest in joining the war, and Japan's lack of interest in forcing the Thais to fight, it would be inappropriate to add them as a military force in the game, IMHO.
I will be proposing an OOB for the
Azad Hind Fauz (Indian National Army, or INA), to represent the 30,000 Indian troops who did fight alongside the Japanese against the British in 1944-45.

That makes sense. I had read that they were reluctant allies, but I wasn't sure how reluctant. Come to think of it, I believe I even read somewhere that the Thai ambassador to the US refused to deliver the declaration of war. Certainly doesn't sound like they deserve an LCU, certainly not 7 divisions.

I wonder if there would be a way to simulate some of the "out of the ordinary oob" guns in the jap arsenal. The four 8" guns at Tarawa pop to mind. They are certainly not standard issue. Maybe the Base Force destined to garrison Tarawa could have a new device added to the end of its list of equipment. Four generic CD guns, say mobile 5.5 inchers, could be used with stats identical to the same gun listed earlier in the devices section. The difference would be that these guns would upgrade to 8" CD guns later in the game. This way the unit could be moved to a location, and then given guns that are normally immobile.
End result - Tarawa would have her 8 inchers.
(added later)
hmmm, I guess I should have posted this in the TOE or Devices section. Oh well, I'm sure the same people read the same threads.

I have just perused the Japanese fort/coast gun OOB and it is a joke. The Japanese, like the British & Americans, used heavy artillery pieces in coastal forts, but in this game the heaviest gun is 9.2 inches .
I am working on the correct OOB for this.
