Okay, it's been a while since the last update but what can I say? I'm bone idle.
Now that singers has gone we're loading up for Palembang and points SW. KB will continue to keep Rabaul isolated as the ground fight continues.
2 infantry divisions are approaching the Indian border, let's see what's there...
The troops in Manila are recuperating and training. PM is on the horizon...
China is over bar the shouting. Just need to get to Sian to clear the railway tracks.

The difference in this game is that PI has fallen so all those troops are sitting around with nothing to do. I was thinking about using 1 div for PM and 2 for Noumea. Aus and NZ are right out... I do have 2 divisions plus engineers marching to Imphal already.

Tarakan and Balikpapan fall easily - no damage to resources or oil.
In Manila 4th Div. loads up to get ready to hit PM.
Then - Holy Crap! WTF? Okay so the USN and RN Carriers turn up off DEI and hit my Tobali and Palembang invasion forces. Fortunately the troops get ashore and take them in 1 turn so again, oil and resources undamaged but my LBA stays glued to the ground and refuses to go after them. I look closely - their max ranges had mysteriously shrunk to 8 for my Betties and 6 for my Nells. My Zeroes were set at 4! Shit, bugger, tit, wank. I am not a happy Hector! Knee jerk reaction send KB from Truk NE to deal with this but then what about my PM plans? I will probably turn KB round until PM falls then go and plaster Ceylon.... Mumble, whine, whinge etc.

Okay, having calmed down I turn kb around and swing them down the west coast of NG. At Gilli Gilli we come across a transport TF just finished depositing troops. 6 less ships in the allied armada... Meanwhile we move aviation support troops down to Palembang and build up our air forces for the assault on Sumatra - coming soon!
Troops in Manila load onto transports to haed off to New Guinea...
The 2 divisions in Burma close on the Indian border. I still ahve the 21st Inf. Div in Hanoi. They are my strategic reserves and will be closely guarded.
I have no designs on Oz unless EUB really screws up, but it doesn't look likely!

4th Div arrives at Truk, various supporting arms + 2 more divs arriving soon. These boys will clear Gilli-Gilli and PM. KB at Truk to offer support. Once finishe here kb will re-deploy to Indian Ocean to support amphibious assualt on Akyab and generally beat up the RN. I know he has at least 1 USN carrier out there too...

Okay, I have 1 Div with armour and engineers lined up for Gilli-Gilli, it will be the same boys who took Rabaul so maybe lull him into thinking I only have the 1 div around. There are 3 more back at Truk planning for PM...
Now I have to start planning for Java. I can use land based area to neutralise most of his forces around here. ! aviation regiment lands at Palembang to give us a shrt hard punch from there to Batavia. Once that airfield is wrecked we will come ashore with 3 divs, 2 armour regiments and 3 combat engineers.
In Burma 2 divs push forward to try and fix his forces in place. Sea-borne assault on Akyab being planned...

The fight for Gilli-Gilli begins well, we destroy their fortifications with more troops still coming ashore...
The ABDA fighter force is all but destroyed. The RAAF take it in the shorts again.
5/4 Update

Looks like the Chinese want Wuchow back. 5 units already there - planning a counter-attack for tomorrow. 20 more units on their way. Training units from Japan and Clark deploy to Pescadores and Hainan to bomb the crap out of them.
ground units advance out of Merak into Batavia, now the battle for Java really starts. Coupled with that will be assaults to the south of Java to cut off the retreat of his air units.
Gilli-Gilli and PM both fell disturbinglty easy. Now the B17's show up over PM but lose 20% of their numbers to CAP. His CVs didn't interfere with the landings at all - where are they?
Where next? Indi is going to be too tough. Oz is out, not giving him the opportunity to use all those lovely Oz Command units without PP expenditure. I suspect Noumea is knee-deep in yanks by now. Ceylon looks good....

Arial/ariel/ planes flying recon spy merchies on west coast of Java. Is he reinforcing or running away? Either way I need to get airbases down there to put a stop to this. Timor here we come!
Chinese establish a foothold in Wuchow too big to eject.
Time to start bombarding Sian. Maybe 2 weeks worth to start with.
KB is desperately in need of a refit, will have to start cycling the CVs through shipyards soon.

Tried something different in Sian. Assaulted with engineers only and everyone else bombarded. Results are:
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 206043 troops, 1694 guns, 26 vehicles
Defending force 141759 troops, 610 guns, 0 vehicles
Japanese engineers reduce fortifications to 6
Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1 (fort level 6)
Japanese ground losses:
325 casualties reported
Guns lost 35
Allied ground losses:
1800 casualties reported
Guns lost 68
If we bombard for a fortnight that's 20k in Chinese casualties. Cool.
troops land at Macassar. Troops embark in Rabaul en route to Timor.

56th Div at Truk embarks for Timor. Strong surface forces available for escort
Looks like he may have missed the boat at Wuchow - strong reinforcements en route and close by.
Hosho sinks. What idiot decided to return to Singers fom Merak by way of the long way round Sumatra? Grrr.

It's been a while since the last report, sorry. Upgraded to 1.5 without any apparent difficulties...
KB on way to support amphibious assault into Timor. 56th Div reve-ed up and ready to go...
Then it's off to India to see what's going on in Ceylon. (after a few days refitting in Singers that is.. Boogis Street anyone?). One div in training in Singers for this. AP's ready to go, just need aircover. 2 x CVs recently arrived in Tokyo now working up airgroups. Will soon have to split KB into 2 x 4 CV groupings or possibly cycle CVs through to allow refits.
Chungking seems to have been stripped to support Sian. & divs plus engineers and armour en route.. We seem to have damaged his oil supplies there so hopefully his supply situation will be hurting soon in China.
Now it's May the US CVs will have had their AA upgrades so I expect to see them somewhere soon!

KB on way to flatten Soerabaja and then onto Timor! replacement CVs en route to Singers for damaged KB-ers to dock there for a while for an AMP.
Ground troops set out for Chungking, he has only 11 ground units there...
56 Brigade unload complete at Lunga, supplies landed too.
