Summer '42 German AI
Here is a quiz: What dope captures Tunisia but leaves his rear exposed? Answer - Me!
The German Infantry do not sit idly by as they advance on Algiers.....(pic)
Germany retake Kursk but once again fail in their attacks on Leningrad and Kharkov
German bombers destroy the WA artilley unit which was newly placed in Albania...
Japan take the Solomons and New Guinea and bomb Wake, again destroying the island's artillery....

WA Summer '42
Now I was able to retake Tripoli without a problem, but the expenditure of supplies, and the delay in conquering all of North Africa could have been avoided had I played it smart...WA continues to fortify it's position in Greece and Albania and will need to send AA and Air fleets in to counter the German bombing raids...On a positive note, the WA Light Fleet damages or destroys 4 U boat flotillas in the North Atlantic, though they still roam free in the South Atlantic....

Fall 1942
Germany continues to bomb Albania and their third attack on Leningrad falls short....
Japan raid Australia and secure a resource center....though they do not remain behind, the WA will need to manuever and resecure the position while maintaining a vigil for future Japanese incursions........

J P, looking at the above map, is there some significance attached to the difference in the lines bordering the areas? Single(dark) lines, double lines, and of course the white lines around the island groupings.

The double lines indicate that it cost 2 movement points for a naval unit to traverse as opposed to one MP for a single line sea zone...the white lines encircling the islands are illustrating the island's region......
Winter '43 Force Pool...Note the descrepency between my air craft carriers and by carrier air fleets (the blue plane above the CV)...when you play the WA, have a two theater war to contend with, and have a brain like overcooked meatloaf, it is easy to forget that you need to build your air carrier fleet back up...I need to build 2 more for a fully functional CV force....

The race for the superior tank.....Keep in mind that when Fog of War is on, you will not know where your opponents tech levels are, and I should point out that the AI does make subtle changes from game to game in its' research, so it is never exactly the same...

Infantry research....I goofed up here a bit (surprise!) by failing to devote enough research to evasion and land attacks...Hell, even the Chinese AI is showing me up here!

Global Map prior to my WA Winter 43 turn...
Note lack of dots (naval units) in atlantic as I need to reestablish my transport link from USA to UK....Right now, I am losing the game, but there is plenty of time to turn it around.......hopefully

Thanks J P for the answer on the map lines. If I may, looking at the research screens I understand from Joel's earlier answer that some units cannot research different categories even though there are some value in that column. My question is for tanks, can the armor or durability parameters be increased due to research?

Winter 44
The German Army do not suffer the presence of the Allies lightly in France and manage to drive them to the sea but my botched invasion does serve a purpose as more German units are transfered from the east...

Winter 44 at start Western Allies turn in Europe....
Another invasion is needed to once again spread Germany's diminishing army even thinner....
In the Pacific, the WA cleared Australia of the Japanese presence and continue to hold on to Rangoon and Mandalay....a steady build up of troops and supplies in Hawaii is continuing for the campaigns that will soon be launched....

Winter 44
Western Allies invade Southern France and send an armor unit into Rumania...Uncle Joe is probably not too happy that the second front is so close to home, though the Germans can armor blitz back into Rumania if they choose to do so.....Note: The Alliances are fixed in the game, so there is no chance for the Western Allies to send Patton storming towards Moscow!...[:)]

I need to wrap this AAR up quickly because new updates are constantly being produced so I need to start games anew....
Spring '44
The Western Allies invade Southern Italy.......Russia is making steady headway towards the Fatherland.....

Spring 44
The WA occupy the Marshall Islands....I have probably moved too slow to gain a Decisive Victory and one of my major miscues was not increasing the Air and Ship Attack of my CV air arm.....many of my CV's are without air fleets as I await their replacements....

Summer 1944
Russia controls all of Poland.....the WA withstand a German counterattack against Southern Italy, which helps the Russian cause as German troops are shifted west....
