Get it!

This game is great. What really seperates if from just about any other strategic game I've played is the supply. I used to play a lot of A&A. You could move your ships all over the world with no cost. Try that in this game. Go ahead, play Japan, stick all your ships into a deathstar TF and start moving it all over the map. See how that works out for you!

The fact that tactical movement uses supply is huge. One has to really plan offensives, you don't just attack everywhere you have an advantage. There are consequences even when you WIN a battle. Supplies have to be built, supply lines have to be maintained. The sub battles against allied transports by the Germans in this game have real, measurable consequences for both sides.

I just played a turn as the WA where my oponent had devastated my transports. The result? My fleet was stuck in the Med! Couldn't move it and it was being ravaged by German bombers. I would have lost the whole fleet if I hadn't figured out a way to fly supplies in by heavy bomber to Malta so I could get them the heck out of there!

Never seen the whole concept of supply and production so well done. A simple, easy to understand system that has a huge impact on strategy and tactics.

If you like strategy games, get it. If you don't, you wouldn't be here. So just get it! [:D]

In the general forum above " Digital Download and retail release information" Erik Rutkins says, " It is important for both Matrix and 2by 3 that the retail stores see this as a successful release" and then he says, " In fact we expect that some stores will have specials that will allow you to get the boxed version with the printed manual for less than that, but that is the suggested price."
So I don't think that Paul Vebber will be dissapointed with a retail sale. You may have misrepresnted Paul in your post.

Sounds like smart shopping to me! A game sold is a game sold.

I am really impressed by the Matrix Game Catalog included in the game box. Since all I have bought have been downloads, I hadn't seen it yet. I'll tell you, if I had just bought GGWaW off the shelf on a whim, that catalog would get me hooked into the much wider world of game simulations. Very impressive work!

All in all, quite a successful marketing effort.

I was quite pleased to find the game at my local EB. Haven't had a chance to install it yet though.
