Yeah, players who are winning somehow seem to resent the cats destroying the game, for some reason... go figure.[8|]
Was thinking of starting up a rent-a-cat business for gamers, but computer games came along and limited their usefulness drastically. Really screwed up the business model![:D]

I've got it![;)]
Why isn't there an intrinsic amph bonus for the Allies after 1/44? To simulate the use of UDT units!
Or, an additional supply loss to China for having Madame Chiang's cost for buying Western style high heels included in supply determination?
Oh, wait a minute. That was Emelda Marcos wasn't it?[:D]

Cats are anti-wargaming and should be banned. Back in the day of the gigantic board wargames our family cat would horribly disfigure history by staging nocturnal missions to walk across the Soviet Union in our War in the East setup ... disheveling the the mighty armies and perhaps even chewing on a few panzer divisions. High command was perplexed at the tremendous power of the Cat as they observed the talon punctures in the terrain around Sevastapol.
Marshall Zhukov proposed a joint offensive to get rid of the Cat, but in the end such a campaign was overruled. It seemed that the Cat was protected by the Supreme Household Command.

That is why we had to invoke not only the "Hand of God" rule, but also the "Paw of Cat" rule - either that or lock the door, which just made them chew the rug.

An abortive attempt was made to eliminate the Cat when one Russian sub-commander brought a secret weapon (code named DOG), however, the attempt backfired when the Cat took refuge on the gaming board, resulting in massive destruction starting around Sevastopol, through Stalingrad, then Moscow and up through the Finnish front before the Cat hastily exited by leaping on top of the bookcase.[:-]

Well I tried to enlist the aid of my faithful ally, the Dog, in staging surreptitious black ops against the Cat. But he was only interested in participating in the tug-of-war ritual involving the sacred Sock.

After becoming allergic to the Cat, i have since embraced the concept of DOG. I have two of them, and they have an intense dislike of anything else with fur/hair that moves. They have kept all cats far from my gaming space, as well as squirrels, skunks(!!), possums, and armadillos.

The cards were to get the politicians back home to give you what you wanted (where to invade/protect next). It was a good idea but there was no enforcement of whatever policy was decided upon. Something like that would make WitP very interesting - having to work with someone elses plans.

PTO II was a great game, I still have it(sega saturn version). The card part of the game was for monthly conference planning. Warship and Aircraft production and distribution of supplies, etc were discussed as well as three targets to focus on for the upcoming month. You only controlled the navy, your army was at the mercy of the dumb AI. Depending on your sucess at the three targets, you would gain or lose a card at next month's conference. IMO it's fun but you can't even try to compare it to WiTP. Only one thing WiTP lacks is the production aspect of PTO II which would have been very fun to have for the Allies.

yup thats the game i remember . I never understood it at all . the game was in english and i got a japanese manual .. not really very helpful [:)]. I think I tried it a few times then binned it as uncomprehensible gibberish [;)]. This was of course before the pornnet i mean internet was properly available . I'd have loved to have a forum on that old game . As it is i'm not sure i'd have ever even got close to understanding this game without the forums help .. and all the nice people who live here [8D]
