Just had a lot of trouble with emails at the start of my other PBEM game here, "new 2 x 2", let us hope that it will not be as difficult as that one has been ;)

I doubt that you want the turn back ;)

Got the turn...processed it....forced Italy to surrender....sent it on to Rodent....

Just in case my EMail fails here, too, I provided a link with the file, too.

Yes, the allies took Italy on the first move cause it only had a couple of militia in it. I admit I didn't know they had the beans to do this on the first move and was disciplined accordingly. That's what I get for playing Germany for the first time against humans. [:o]

I emailed Charn for a rematch yesterday but he must not have seen it yet so I'll just start another game instead of waiting for confirmation and then take it from there.

As for Italy being taken on the first move, this must be something done to every newbie cause I received an email from another noob who got it too so I'm thinking of making a thread called 'Nooblers Guide to Avoiding Short Games [:-]' and explain defensive measures for Italy, ASW, Sealion, Axis doubtleteaming Russia, teched-up heavy bombers, how to use adv supply efficiently etc. The info should include the basic things that need doing to avoid all those potentially game breaking traps for newbies. I think it will help the veterans as well cause they will get decent competitors trained up much faster and be able to play longer, more intense games which are always more fun. If veterans like mike, paul and uncle joe could add their wisdom, maybe we could get a sticky put together to help out new players. I could write it myself, but I don't think people trust my credibility yet after the big booboo committed here and the ASW deficiency in my other game [:o].

Actually, I'm a little lacking in motivation for this so I'll let you guys find another player for Germany. I got a couple of games in progress already so that's enough for now.

Hmm, a new start would be ok for me, but if you want to quit that is your choice to make. But unless Mike feels like not being willing to stay teamed with you (which I think to be very unlikely) I see no reason for quitting. I hope this has nothing to do with the little "trash-talking", but as Mike I do believe this is what makes the game even more interesting ;)

BTW, there is a rather lengthy tread about taking Italy on turn 1 already (Italian Gambit IIRC).

The main problem is determining how many troops to use in the defense of Italy and those troops will be missed on the other fronts. Personally I think that this is one of the main reasons to go for Gibraltar as Germany.

No Charon, I got 2 games going now and I do my turns very carefully so it takes long enough. I'll be looking to start a new one if either of these ends but that won't be for a long time cause they are still even.

Perhpas you could give your password to Mike and he could run both Axis powers? (assuming Mike is up for it, of course)

Actually I already gave Mike the file before I moved on the 2nd turn and gave him my password which was 'fungusbreath' cause I didn't expect to be giving it anyone. I asked for his opinion on whether the game is worth continuing and told him my plans to deal with the new development but he advised we commit seppuku. Its just a newbie gamebreaker so not much interest in continuing that.

Hi guys. I see you are short a player. I have one PBEM going (with Charon and two others). I wouldn't mind starting a second.

Hey Fellas!

Sorry to see ya go Rodent, but I understand. Having a couple intensive games is hard to focus on![X(]

Charon and Zombie, I would be happy to play you guys as the axis alone. If that works for you guys let me know and I will prepare a game and send the file.

Also, Rodent, good idea about the "newbie guide". I will add my 2 cents in a thread. Maybe we can creat a comprehensive guide to induct new players .... "gently" [:'(]

Let me know if you guys want a go around!

Later Rodent!

That's fine with me - assuming I don't mess up setting up the game! What options are you using?

We had time limit and autovictory activated with fully manual (advanced) supply (no area/auto supply).
