KB is now a few hexes north of Rabaul - one Hudson with a recon mission found them there, with many Zeros on CAP mission. Hudson lost !!

Several sub attacks, but they also get hit everytime they hit a Nippon ship. I think Steven will lose that TK - only hit with one torpedo, but it was damaged good.

Stevens troops move closer and closer to Singapure and I can do nothing against it !!

The Phillipines are a lost cause for the Allied site - nearly impossible to supply them and also nearly impossible to save a few units .

Only a few good moments for me this turn - one sub sunk by escorts and one MSW did sink after it was hit by coastal fire a few turns back.
Another Nippon MSW was lost due to UNKNOWN cause ??!

My fighter A/C are no match for the Zeros at the moment. I will let the Dutch units ( the fighters !!!) rest a few turns ( if Steven allows this !!)


Two TFs are on they way to intercept some Nippon Transport TFs that are around Singkawang. I just hope that his BB TF does not be attacked by my ships - they shall concentrate on APs !!!

My valiant Dutch captains tried to attack in the night.
They knew that the enemy was there, but still they got surprised and during the daylight the Japanese bombers reduced the rest of them - now the battle strength of the Dutch fleet is cut by half.
The Brits have agreed to send in more ships from Ceylon - a Carrier group ( if you may call the Hermes a carrier ) and a Cruiser group, all in all 12 ships.
Only good thing with the night attack was that 3 APs were sunk - but there were no troops left on them [:(]


Rabaul is under siege now - the two flying units are moved away ( Wirraway to PM and the small Hudson unit to Australia ).
The troops will not be able to hold Rabaul for a long time - but hopefully long enough, so that I can move some units and supply to PM in the meantime.

The MSW and the AK attacked near Khota Bharu did sink at the end of the turn [:)] as well as two TKs that were damaged by subs a few turns back.

Building up Wake continues - I need some more time here.

Steven called this turn "Fairly non-descript turn" - I have to agree.
Nothing big or new happened.
At Wake there are now 10000+ troops with some supply and fuel - more on the way. Two CVs are at Midway waiting for some reaction - I hope Stevie will try to invade Wake very soon [:D]

In the south Rabaul still holds; PM is strengthened.
Fuel, OIl, Resources are moved in several convoys to Australia.

BC Repulse has no flooding any longer, but she is damaged quite heavy ( 66 ) and I do not yet know where to move her ( India or Australia )

The Japs took several bases this turn, but Rabaul still holds !!
My subs still try to make some kills, but they seem not to be good at it. But also Steven´s subs are not really dangerous at the moment.
NN Kongo was hit - if it is damaged I do not know; followup raids that hit nothing showed that there was lots of smoke coming out of the Kongo.

The convoys carrying oil and resources from the Dutch colonies to Australia, are not attacked or even spied on by Steven at the moment - this is very good, because there are not enough escorts for them!!!

not much to say,
all redeployments go on schedule, as do the resupplying missions.
A small stock is being build up in Australia.
The Royal Navy will try some smaller attacks in the next few weeks - these will be done to cover some troop movements of the Dutch ( read as retreat [:(] )

In China I will start to pull back the most bombed troops and bring forward the "glourious" Chinese Air Force [X(]!!

Dutch Harbour and Anchorage are now being build up as ample strong holds - soon two more forward bases will be build up !!
I hope Steve will not interfere in the north for a few months ( at least until I have got enough Air Power up there ! )

Once again 3 sub attacks without any success !! ( Saury, Searaven and KXVII ) The convoys they attacked seemed to be warships only ??!

On the Philipines Steven seems to have at least the amount of 6+ divisions, but my lines still hold. The Japanese bomb my ground units daily - most often less than 6 active defending A/C ( Kittyhawks ) are in the air.
The last active PT was heavily bombed and damaged ( 4 x 250 kg bombs and still above water!! )
Even my small Bomber Force left there makes some attacks against Japanese shipping - without hitting anything !!


Rabaul is once again attacked from the KB and from ground, but it holds still [:)]

Several air raids against my ships in the port of Soerabaja - but luckily they did not hit any of my ships there. The Dutch Air Force was able to get out of the air combat with a 1:1 ratio.

Two Japanese subs are active along the US coast, one only one hex away from a very big convoy ( carrying troops for the South Pacific )

Steven is still landing more and more troops at Rabaul - my few coastal defence guns ( around 10 !! ) did fire in self-defence and so I am happy that 400+ enemies were able to reach the shores.

Steven is busy invading unprotected islands.
His subs found one of my big supply TFs and got to hits on TKs - not good. I activated 5 three ship ASW TFs at PH - three fast DD only and two mixed ones for closer looking around PH!!

After this turn I moved the last B-17 unit away from Manila - the attacks did not do any good anymore. Only one P40 and one Catalina unit lest in that area.

Singapure: here I also started to pull out the air units mainly for R&R, so that they are back to full strenght in the future attacks in the Dutch waters and or Burma

Steven has got his fingers on the important A/F Clark Field. Now I have to evacuate the last three Air units - the two fighter units go to China , and the Catalinas go to India.
The B-17s from the Philippines are now in Australia and on Ceylon.

My air combat TFs will make a fast recce run northwest from Wake island - my recce reports said something about a 4 ship transport TF 3 hexes south of Marcus Islands. If it is there [:D], and if not it will be a distraction for Stevieboy.

In India I try to fortify the coastal positions.
Also several units are moved into northern Burma *- I want to stop him somewhere there.

I have now a PT flottilia in Alaska ( 6 ships ) - I will try to lure some Japanese ships into the northern waters [:)]

With only negligible damage to my own ships I was able to damage all four Japanese ships. Later 2 of them sunk [:'(]

This turn was not well executed from my side. I do not know why the Hermes-*TF moved so close to the coast ( did it react to any enemy ship ?? I do not know ).
Luckily she is still swimming and will probably make it. She will be moved to Batavia and as soon as the fires are out and the flooding is reduced she will be moved to Australia ( with most of the other damaged ships - as long as they are able to make 12+ knots ).
A second Brit carrier is now also active. But I will try to keep here hidden for the next few gaming months.

My American carriers will now move back, after they did not find any ships around Marcus island - one TF will move to Wake for patrol duties and the other two to PH for resupplying.
At the moment I am not sure what to do with them - either move them to NZ and Aus for a classical game or build up some strength and make a few raids to the Japanese coast and move back to Alaska ( here I build up some bases for my planned action in near future - mostly concentrating on A/Fs)
