Hi, I'm using Windows ME and the only CTD I've ever had was the info screen because it requires a .DLL file that is not a ME file. (So I always get that crash)
I have never had any other CTD and I fight detailed battles (often 6 in a single turn)

Hi Mogami!

By the "info screen" you mean the attachment box that you get from right-clicking on a unit on the main map? If this really is the only thing not working in ME, it'd be a shame not to fix it.

I personaly had only a fews crashes, of course in tactical battles. But counting the overall ratio, its something like 50 to 1. So not to bad, anoying if you just fought a 1 hour battle, but still, not to bad. Plus they are adding a tactical battle save in the next patch.

My problem is the AI, but they are making effort to improve that. Overall its a good game, just some tweaking here and there is needed.

Hi, How you doing Eric? So far that is the only problem I have playing solo. I can't move a unit from a city to the open unless I transfer to HQ. (I can't move a HQ from inside a city at all)
Online I don't know if the problems are from my OS or not. Sometimes I lose control of provinces. I change production and it resets like the expert is on even when it is off. (So often online my people begin starving because I can not raise my food production)
In a recent game the program lost the abilty to tell me from another player. We both had control of 2 Nations. Could not see the other in chat (but third player could see us both)
In the waiting room (screen you get after finishing orders before other players) The other player changed from name to local player beside his nation flag. At start it was correct but once it gave us both control of 2 Nations and could not see chat his name changed to local player)
This is the complete list of problems I have using ME. (would be a shame not to fix, I'll even come up to Ann Arbor and buy you a beer)

HI, COG does not support WIndows ME and yet I have been playing it crash free from the start.

Windows ME as an example of stability and problem free execution??? At first I thought this was either Candid Camera or the Twilight Zone. I am so glad you posted a list of your non-crash related problems further down to confirm that I wasn't either dreaming or going insane.

You found my weak spot! Do you remember what the name of the missing .dll is when you try to open the info box in ME?

what crashes? I have been playing every day and never had one crash yet, before you blame the game software, perhaps you should look into your computer hardware.[:)]

You obviously don't read the tech support forum.

There are constant crashes and numerous bugs. Maybe you should read it before you blast him.

Even multi-billion dollar game publishers like EA still have released games that went through a great deal of testing and still required patching due to unforeseen compatibility or bug issues.

Amen to that Eric. While the game has some issues, if any of you bought BF2 recently, you know this game is actually in pretty good shape! Other than the extremely, extremely annoying detailed combat crash, I don't have any complaints myself. Did I mention how extremely annoying that was? :)

Thanks Eric for taking the time to respond. It's nice to actually hear from a business that they take the time to respond to their customer complaints and with great reasoning too (anyone who used to read a certain dev in WW2OL knows what I mean, very emotional and reactional which caused more problems than it solved). EA & others for one could learn a lot from ya.

I get CTD in detailed battles alot but I know it will get fixed. I had a great battle last night. It went on for almost 3 days because both sides keep calling in reinforcments. The main town changed hands several times. I really like the option to call in reinforcments. It adds a brand new element to the game.[:D]

My final comment on this issue, is Jim and others your right, I can't recall any crashes in the main game area and I like it very muchly, however in the detailed battle area, (IMHO the best part of the game) crashes are well documented by others, as well as the Devs, and so I stand by my original comment. Kid has summed it up well. I played a large battle last night as well, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours of slugfesting, the best time I've had since I started playing the game.
Finally, my comment wasn't directed towards the beta testers, but as I clearly stated Matrix games release policy. Erik's reply above, addresses my concerns well, and when the next couple of patches address the initial problems, I am sure me and many others will be playing this game for many months to come, not to mention sequels that may appear.[:)]

Which is the nature of a tech support forum, you only have avery few customer writing there that they didn´t have crashes [;)]. People tend to judge really quick by simply looking at the post count of a suport forum.

For what it´s worth, for around 90% of the COG issues we get in via email support a simply driver update (either sound or graphic, or both) fixed the crash problems. This is actually the case with 90% of all email tech supports requests we get in.

It didnt like Win98 very much, I upgraded to XP finally (under duress, old skool [;)]) and I've had zero problems with it.

...on the other hand I still got issues with WITP though, even running it with XP, but I'm used to no sound now so no worries. Winamp with some metal in the background is an acceptable substitute. [:D]

So I'm happy with CoG. Bravo, bravissimo! its not even got a patch yet. Better than Paradox manages, don't even bother buying one of their games if its version 1.0.

No worries, Joram. I used to have all sorts of crashes before I built a new "gameing" computer with alot of bells and whistles. Just from experience is all, the games that crashed alot on my old machine work just fine on my new one. It's always easy to blame the software but only after you look at your own computer and are certain it is all in order with the latest updates, clean up the heatsink and fan on the processer and the fans that cool your power supply. You would be surprised what you might find. [:)]
