When does the 48 hour timer start? Because i think Witherspoon's may be close to expiring... bummer.
Doobious if you do not hear anything from Witherspoon by the end of tonight (Tues Aug16) then you will be awarded the win.

I received an email from him today.
It said:
Sir Doobious----
My internet has gone awol, as the university flushed the whole system requiring me to
get a new cd to hook up to the network----I can probably get the cd within a day or 2----but
whatever happens I surrender the game to you if they dont have a new network cd for me in time. Whats the time limit?
ps.the computers at work can't handle the game
I replied:
The time limit is 48 hours, but I'm willing to go a bit longer for you.
Hopefully you can get things running before Wednesday. Lets say Wed. at midnight deadline? Thats 5 days, seems fair.
Thanks for letting me know.
I am wondering how this time delay will effect my chances for moving to the next round?
Mr. Quiet, you will have to make the call.
Thanks,

The reason I set the 48hr limit was to keep games moving, but if circumstances come up (as they always do) and both players are in agrement, then delays are fine to a point. It is good to see he emailed you and told you what the situation is, and I see no problem giving him a couple more days. Keep me informed.
As far as your chances for advanceing to the next round (which will be 2 vs 2) they got a lot better today since you are playing Axis and JanSorenson took a Allied win today knocking out dvrader an Axis player. Although dvrader could still advance if not enough Axis players win depending on his final score. Also my game with DragonHeart is still in the opening moves (my fault on delay).

I gambled with an early attack on Russia but stalled out. If you need a score we can continue the game.

No, I do not need a score summer41 is fine. You can continue it if you want as the later in the game a losing player makes it, the better his chance of advanceing if no other players playing the same side as him win.
Example- All axis players lose.
One has a score (i.e. played until the end) he advances
Of the other 3 then the one who got the farthest game date wise, goes on to the 2 vs 2.
Hope that is clear.

Win has dropped out on a number of games. Last time I heard (read), he told me that he was having computer problems. I'd call it a day. I have.

Hi Rasmus,
Haven't heard from you in several days; thought maybe your email was out. Are you able to continue our game?

I originally wanted 20 players so the first round of 5 vs 5 would weed out the drop-out players and the rest of the rounds would be the dedicated players. But the tourney had to start at some time before the people that signed up lost interest.
Because of the way the rules are written for advanceing to the next round and that 3 of the 4 games are over (although 2 never really got started) then the last position available in the next round must be an allied player. I fully intend to finish the last game with Dragonheart but there is no need to make all the other players wait until it is over when it is already known that the allied player must advance. So the match-ups have been posted and you may start the games.
Same rules as the 4 vs 4 round.
Good Luck Everyone
