HiHi

Brilliant!!!! At last!!! Yippeee!!! and other good stuff [&o]

Hope you guys at Matrix are gonna look at the ACW titles as well, improving the AI would be great, make playing solo more entertaining etc.

But my big, “PLEASE” is, leave the graphics alone they are fine, BUT, is it possible to make it so troops in column can march, and also deploy into line, just like they could in the real war.

Wishing you good luck in you updating of a superb gaming platform, just don't forget the ACW!!! [:)]

All the Best Peter

I would definitely like to see further development in the Campaign series...my first idea would be to improve the AI and come to think of it like HoustonAerosFan mentioned above replace IGO-UGO with WEGO seems like a great idea!
Replacing igo-ugo with wego is not a practical option I'd imagine.
Agreed...but one can dream right :) Fix the AI, make it smarter and I could care less about other features. EF2 is great as is...except the AI. I'm definitely going to support the campaign series. All the campaign games in one package for 39.95...sound's great to me!

Any plans to pickup Rising Sun?

Also - what's this I hear about MATRIX working on the old 360 Harpoon Series?

According to the new forums descriptions, all CS games are included. This covers Rising Sun as well.

Hi all,

This is great news to have those wonderfull games out of the humid attic of Take 2. Hopefully they did age well. Can't promise I'd buy all of them though. [;)]
ORIGINAL: m10bob The Bulge has videos of both German scenes accompanied by the Panzerlied, and American action scenes accompanied by The Star Spangled Banner. That game is worth purchasing for the vids alone, IMHO.
BG Waterloo and I believe other Napoleonic and Civil War battleground games also also had in-game video of reenactments of the battles. This was a great immersion factor (though a drain of the power of my old P120 [;)] ). Here's hope these features will be kept.

Cheers,

JeF.

Congrats.

I've played almost all of the Talonsoft titles, from Shiloh to 12 Oclock High. I look forward to what you can do with these titles and what you can do to resurrect the venerable name.

Excellent news!!! [X(]

Updated versions of the Napoleonic games would be great! Even if only slightly updated to run easily on XP... [;)]

In all the excitement over TOAW and the Campaign & Battleground series, let's not forget Age of Sail. This John Tiller design is STILL the best computer sim of late 18th/early 19th century naval warfare. Unlike all of its successors (Age of Sail II, Privateer's Bounty & now Salvo!), it had decent AI, a sensible UI, and was pretty much bug-free. My wish list for this one includes:

land areas & shallow water

shore batteries

anchoring

ability to set waypoints

updated graphics

This is really thrilling news. Truly. I hope that Matrix doesn't go "over plush" (plush was their word on another topic some time ago) on these games. Some of Matrix's decisions regarding UI have more than a few times been confusing. As a former UI designer, programmer, and tester I pay perhaps too much attention to how a button looks or how a list performs. I just hope they don't burden these great games with otherwise clunky, bloated interfaces.

And please, before you go off, there are only a couple of instances of Matrix UIs (if in fact they are Matrix's responsibility) being clunky and bloated.

Like jvgfanatic, I'm a little concerned about how Matrix is going to handle these games. I don't mind the user interface as much as the historical accuracy. In this aspect, a lot of countries have been neglected in favor of the USA, Germany, Russia and the UK. Don't get me wrong, I love Matrix games, but if you're looking for a good portrayal of any country except the ones mentioned above, you might as well look elsewhere. World War II touched every inhabitable continent, no one should be overlooked.

I will second this motion quite heartily. Actually, what I would like to see is AOS II with no bugs and the original AOS campaign system. IMO, AOS II still ranks as one of the most beautiful wargames ever created, and the interface was excellent. I had to bail because of the bugs. Did they ever get the grappled ships being ground into a hulk bug fixed?
