For the upcoming CHS version did we ever figure out why Kido Butai was moved out one hex from its original game start location of Etorofu Achorage in port and if not can we move it back to port/base where it was before? It is nice to have KB in port for other options...

I did test this the last time it was discussed. The problem is with the modified endurance of some of the escort vessels. If the TF starts in port, some of the ships refuel, use up op points, and the TF never reaches PH, ruining the first turn. Until and unless that is changed, the TF has to start away from a port.

My first WITP experiments were with modification to cruising speeds and ranges and fuel capacities to get actual operating values - and it is even worse. WITP has grossly exaggerated many ship class movement values - some of this seems to be an actual mistake (fuel values in the range field) and some of it just bad data (right ball park but too big). A typical ship gets up to 2/3 too much range on about 1/3 less fuel than it takes to go its real range - and all this at a higher cruising speed than the range is calculated for!
