I have both 1.071 as 1.041 installed. While I'm in The Netherlands I bought the original game in the US. Does this mean I now have a US version or international?

The internation version was only just realeased about a month ago - you have a US version I am sure. Also, the international version is still just v1.040. The next patch will unify the two in what I expect to be version 2.000.
I will send my first turn to SeaMonkey as soon as possible.

Jan you should probably wait until we find out if eveyone has the beta patch as it is not available for download anymore, so anyone who does not have it could not play the same version as all the other players.
I would like all the games in each round to be played with the same exact version, even if we have to wait another week or 2 for the next beta release.

Too late - I actually just sent the first turn to SeaMonkey.
I see your point though. If anyone in the tournament does not have 1.070 or 1.071 (it does not matter which as the only difference is with respect to tcp) though I can mail them the needed files. I quite expect most or all to already have those though.

Okay guys, just woke up from my long winter nap.
I need the patch. This is my first PBEM with WaW, so let me get the broom after the cobwebs.
Be back at you shortly Jan.

Maybe someone could make a call if this tournament is starting or not, since there seems to be a bit of confusion.
If it has started then MrQuiet can send his first turn to me.

OK ROUND 1 of the LOW EVASION Tournament HAS STARTED!
If anyone does not have version 1.071b then contact
JanSorensen
at
janbs@mail1.stofanet.dk and he will mail you the patch.
Since this is a holiday week, the 48hr rule to return a file will not be enforced unitll after Jan 1 2006 in the event any of the participants are away on vacation.
Good Luck everyone and remember evasion can not be researched any higher than 1(one) over World Standard for all units.

I mailed the files to Sea Monkey he is missing - I believe he should be up and running.
We can still wait for the next patch if you prefer though.

I got your message saying I'm in and responded by giving my email address. I received your message via subscription rather than here. I don't see that my reply was received.
I looks as though you have assigned opponents - haven't received that.
I am using v 1.070. Is that compatible with 1.071? If not I'll need to get the patch.

The only difference between 1.070 and 1.071 has to do with tcp - so it does not matter which of the two you use.

"And with the +1 evasion rule the Russians will keep on dying by thousands."
I recieved the quote above in a email.
I want to make sure everyone is clear on the Evasion Cap Tournament Rule so here is the reply:
I hope you understand that the rule on evasion is 1 above world standard not 1 above starting evasion.
Infantry evasion is world standard of 6.
This means all infantry for all countrys can not go over 7.
Rus infantry evasion starts at 4, but you are still allowed to research it up to 7.
I hope you understand that.
The idea on the cap is to not allow players to research there units up so high that they can not be damaged or destroyed.

Mr Quiet,
It is my unenviable position to disclose what an absolutely terrible opponent I was for Jan, little more than a speed bump.
Game over, Jan (AV) victor....but I didn't surrender!!! We need the option to continue.
And as an old soldier once said, " I will remove myself from the premises and just fade away", or something to that effect.

SeaMonkey:
Thanks for the report. I matched the players up in the order they signed up and you drew a very tough opponent, in fact Jan won the last tournamnet I ran. I am glad to hear you did not surrender, and I am sure you will get better with more expierence.
JanSorensen:
Congradulations on your victory.
Which side do you wish to play in the next round?
