Well pzb came with 3 CL's and 3 DD's against my 10 USN DD's. I sunk 2 dd's then the third hit a mine and sunk. Hit CL's lit two of my DD's up one had an Ammo explosion.
I found a us inf regiment in mainland china. i'm going to try to rush it to shanghai and use it to destroy the 1 snlf unit that is there.
I got a notice of a unit prepping for PH. This won't be good i'm guessing he'll come with a few divisions and i have nothing that can stop that at the moment.
I have a CD force on its way to Midway to try to hit a few ships when he comes to take midway. Should i redirect this to PH? I mean will one CD unit really do anything to stop him? Would these 1000 men be better served at PH?
I really need help you guys

.
Besides if nobody is going to comment in the AAR i'll just stop writing it and save myself some time lol. I need the advice of the wise players on here.

OK, I'll give you some ideas. Hawaii is defended by an Understrength Division (1 full, 1 understrength Bde). If I were you, I would rush as much of the 3rd Division from the West Coast as is possible to Pearl. An Amphib invasion against determined resistance can be and is deadly.
The next thing I would do is this. Do not send the 15th US Infantry to Shanghai. Look at it this way, the Shanghai SNLF can't move, so Shanghai is the cheapest POW camp in the Pacific. If possible, I'd move the 15th over land, and possible get it to Australia, to use to return the PI, or maybe to reinforce the garrison at PH.
Send all of your naval units over to HAwaii. Make him pay for each man the steps foot on American soil.
That said, be wary. He will probably take the outermost islands, Midway, or even Palymyra before the main assault, so lay a ton of minefields. Also, ship as many bomber squadrons as you can to Pearl, that will give you airsupport, a luxury he can't enjoy.
If you are really bold, load up a regiment, and land them at an undefended Japanese base, and make him call off the Hawaiian assault

I really would make PH safe first. If he takes that everything you do will have to be based from the West Coast and it will take alot to take it back

WOO hoo finally some responses

i'm a happy boy now.
I am saving up PP to be able to ship a division out to PH. How can i lay a minefield in PH from minelayers based at PH? Whenever i do that it doesnt want to put mines out.

Ok latest turn from john. The heats on. The japs have said they will blockade shanghai for our attacks on the "helpless" jap ships. Not very helpless though those cruisers took out 3 of my DD's today and badly damaged the rest. I'm dry docking the rest of the squad out there. I did manage to heavily damage both CL's though, and i had a sub put 2 torpodeos into one of them. I don't think it will make it back. I caused one of Johns fleets to retreat west into the chinese port that has the main china fleet. So i have created a fleet with an aggressive commander and undocked them. Hopefully there will be combat.
i warned japan and john that any japanese forces operating in the sphere of influence of another country or making threatening moves would be attacked. So hopefully this will be a good excuse to bring china into the war. Which won't do much good but its better then nothing.

Well johns pesky CL keeps coming back to Shanghai this time they were greeted by 4 CL from the chinese navy. And what can i say those CL's are pretty crappy lol. Would not put a dent in the armor of the jap cl. But we put a torp into her so hopefully she will sink. In other news i'm moving the USAFFE (sp) HQ to clark. I want to get as much of the 25k supplies in manila to clark so we can have it. I will defend clark with all i have since its almost level 5 forts. And manilla is now level 0. i have 3 TF's 2 hexes East of Midway. 1 CV tf with 2 CA's & a few DD's the fighters are at 30XP and the torp planes are at 38. Hopefully they can hit something when the invasion comes. Guarding the precious CV is 2 TF's of BB's. 6 BB's in each TF and each TF commanded by either an aggressive or Very aggressive commander. I'm hoping that john keeps his main body massed at wake or saipan for the invasion of PH. So hopefully i can pop in and do a little damage and disrupt his plans. I have another 8 BB's coming to PH they are all damanged but its better then nothing.
In San Fran i have 50 DD's waiting for the think its 4th Marine BDE which has 200+ AP. I need 900 PP to move them and i have around 700 currently so afew more turns and then i will start Fast transporting them. 50 Destroyers should be able to move a good chunk of them quickly and then by that time i'll have around 30 AK's back at san fran. The AK's are currently 2 hexes out of PH ready to drop off supplies and some CD units and a art unit. And some bombers *wink*.
I'm going to draw a line in the sand at PH either i take him out and stop him. Or he pushes through me and hopefully i sink enough of his fleet to cripple his plans to then take the SRA. He's hinted to me that after PH hes going to take on the rest of the fleet. It is smart i'm going to do the same in my game vs general billy. Take out US and then swing back and hit the brits hard.
We'll find out in a couple turns if the MLs are able to drop mines. If so i should be able to put out 1000+ mines pretty quickly if it only takes me 2 turns to reload and unload.

Well i have 12 Battleships that are 2 hexes east of midway with my CV fleet. I noticed 2 CL's came into midway today to scout. Hopefully that means his main fleet is not far out. So i ordered the fleets into midway and then to quickly retreat so it will be a night fight and then we'll retreat at flank speed back to PH. If anything i'll bag those 2 CL's.
My subs have been tearing things up i sunk 2 AK and 1 AP.
My fleet was spotted by his subs so i think a dash and run will be best. I don't want to do anything but slow him down as much as possible. I only need 2 more turns to be able to take the 3rd Marine BDE to PH. I have 100DD's at San fran now ready to fast transport to PH. HOpefully that extra 250 AP will be enough to hold PH.
Boring turn

I put 2 torps into BB Kashima at Davao
Thats about all that happened.
Too bad the BB was not badly hurt it appears.

The chinese decided that they should step up since their waters were invaded by japanese and they decided to protect Shanghai port. After 2 days of heavy fighting the chinese are looking to lose 3 CL's and the bulk of whatever miserable fleet they had.
This cable was sent to tokyo this morning.
Cable to Tokyo...
The chinese govt has ordered the US infantry units to stand down in shanghai STOP
The govt has ordered the Us combat regiment off of Chinese land STOP
The regiment is reportedly headed for british territory at hong kong. STOP
The chinese govt apologizes for opening fire on japanese naval vessels STOP
The commander of that Squadron has been shot and relieved of duty STOP
All chinese naval vessels have been ordered to stand down STOP
You may retrieve your units at your leisure STOP (if the guns open fire on you there is no way for me to stop that btw)
The chinese will pay any amount of damages the japanese govt sees fit. STOP
In other news pearl harbor is filled with at least 3 japanese subs. We have 4 x4 ASW groups searching the harbor.
I have my main battle fleet 2 Surface task forces each with 6 BB's & the CV task force off pearl harbor waiting to pounce.
I have 20 subs around midway and as of yet nothing else. I'm wondering if he is going to go for PH before Midway to throw me off. I have 10 subs on screen around PH hopefully i'll see them coming.
I finally got the PP to move the marine bde from sf to ph. Its currently on 2 Fast transport taskforces of 25 DD each. It is moving at flank speed and should arrive in 2-3 days. Hopefully that is soon enough that should bring the combat level of the island upto almost 800 AP. The forts are going to be 6 soon as well. I hope and pray we have enough to stop them. If not the us will be firmly kicked out of the pacific.

Of course
Well johns starting to make me ancy. After i saw those 2 CA's at Midway and they spotted my BB's he has disappeared. I'm afriad hes going to come to PH first. Hopefully he is still 4 days out. That is plenty of time for me to offload the Marine BDE with another 250 AP.
I dont know if it will be enough i pray that if i fall i will take a few of his big boys to the bottom with me.

Well johns computer is fubar hopefully after xmas he can get me a turn back

.
After the stalling of my offensive in my game vs gbilly i think that i have good chances vs john. I can just put TF after tf of units in PH and sure he can have his big boys come in to attack but he will run out of ammo by the 2nd encounter and then my DD's can put torps into him

.

Well it looks like pzb is back i just sent my first turn back to him. I have my defense of Pearl Established and i dare him to try..i will take his fleet out like a load of laundry. Hopefully unless the jap fleet is better in 26 then it was in my other 22 scen
