Also, WITP won't be accurate until you have friendly fire and accidents, ships in TF's running into wach other at night, ships grounding on poorly charted rocks, etc. The game is way too easy. [:D]
Actually it is IMO. It hasn't happened too often in my games but accidents/incidents with ships is modelled. Normally a ship will accumulate a few SYS damage in a voyage - occassionally 20-30 SYS pts are added to simulate an incident - usually with ships smaller than CLs. Well thats what i've observed.

I thought those on Rabaul lived under parasols with Pina Colada's whilst our Allied flyers at Lunga lived in Malaria pits. You mean this isn't the case? [&:]
[:D]
Well, maybe it is - but Rabaul is still is on an active volcano.
You missed my point bud [;)]
No, but i decided to let it go by that time, not wanting to stir up the infamous "they lived in luxury" debate.[:'(][:D]

While we're being silly, how about something that actually DID effect the war? Like that earthquake in 1944 that scrunched a Mitsubitsi Factory?

Didn't Vesuvius (Sicily) erupt back in WW2? The debris wrecked a couple dozen B-25s that were at an AF in the vacinity.
Next, you'll be asking for Typhoons, it's not like they had those in WW2 either (one hit the Okinawa invasion forces that were parked there, I believe).

Don't forget halsey through a typhoon or two.

Actually (unofficially) Halsey got reamed for losing a few DDs in a typhoon. One of the reasons Spruance was picked to lead Olympic and eventually to succeed Nimitz. According to the History channel anyways.
