Vintage 1970's? If you mean born in the period, sure, otherwise no.
And we have two, possibly three different references to deep throat here by the ay. One would indeed date the the 70's, the other to a much more recent movie. One is indeed a porn movie, the other a certain phone call about a 1970's event of note;-).
P.S.: Never saw Deep Troath seems to have been a pretty poor movie.
P.P.S.: Now that I think about it some more, the phone call might be historical (a certain journalist's description...) and not just related to a single movie.

Now you are confusing ME! To set the record straght, Deep Throat was the name given by journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to their secret government (FBI, it turned out) source for information about the Watergate scandal, which ultimately led to the resignation of Richard Nixon.

They chose the name as a play on words. It was the title of a famous (at the time) porno movie starring Linda Lovelace.

Yep, in my first recollection I thought the introduction as "Deep Troath" the informer came in a 1990's teen movie (two teenie fans of Nixon disapointed with him calling the newspaper...), only after that I did recall that "Deep Troath" had really existed in the Watergate case...
P.S.: I expect the only reason why I even know anything about watergate is that 1) I studied history and 2) my father was a journalist around that same time (so I remember the inside work of a newspaper even if I only was a small child at the time).

I remember Watergate. What a mess!
An interesting peice of trivia:
The first article of impeachment agains Richard Nixon was for 'lying to the American public.'
One of the lawyers that helped draft the articles of impeachment was none other than Hillary Rodham (now Clinton).
